Means you get to carry to and from the range and to events, gun shows etc. You just can't carry it all the time. When you apply, you should ask "for all lawful purposes". That means you can carry whenever you want as long as it is to places you are legally allowed to. Its up to the Chief in the town you live in whether or not you can get an "all lawful purpose" LTC.

The definition is what your Chief says it is. Careful with the gun show thing. Best thing to do is try and get in writing what your specific Chief believes the restriction to mean.

They're not kind enough to define them under the law. I've seen some situations where the chief thinks sporting means it's ok to CC while hiking because that's a sporting activity. I've seen others that think it means range, competition, or hunting only.
