Anyone have a clue on any progress on easing the grip on getting a concealed carry permit in MAryland?? I have one for every stste except Maryland ( where I live !!) and it seems you have to be directly threatend and be able to prove it by way of police reports in order to be considered for one, unless you own a business that requires you to carry cash. Kind of STUPID I think as it works in every other state and would certainly keep the crime rate down. THe theives and thugs in Maryland don't need a CCP to carry !!

CO, FL, ME, MI, NH and SC* accept only RESIDENT permits from states they honor. CT, NY, NYC, MD, NJ, RI, MA recognize only their own permits and do accept applications from non residents. The states of CA and HI recognize no permit but their own and do not issue to non residents. Guam, Peurto Rico and the US Virgin Islands also recognize only their own permits and do not issue to non residents. American Samoa, District of Columbia, IL and the Northern Mariana Islands are no-issue, no permits recognized areas.
*SC will issue non resident permits to people who own property (and pay taxes on it) in SC (proof of tax payment required).
Oh, by the way, you've pretty much nailed the description of the process to get a MD permit. One who is a DOCUMENTED serial victim in an ongoing violent domestic abuse or violent stalking incident MIGHT get fast-tracked for a permit. Or not.
Take Care.
