Maryland Concealed Carry Permit

Stay away from DC that's like jumping from the pan to the fire... Libs they are going to destroy it all! I did look into Arkansas for future retirement and was surprised at how dirt cheap housing was but not quite able yet!
Farmhood, I'd strongly suggest northwest Arkansas as a retirement option. I live in Bella Vista, AR, a quaint little city just north of Bentonville.

Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville makeup most of the population here, and this corner of the state is a melting-pot of people from all over the world, partly due to Walmart, and the University of Arkansas.

This area of Arkansas is so far removed from the rest of the state, as to be its own entity. They are finally widening I-540 to I-49 to 4 lanes each direction, as the traffic has become reminiscent of Balto, but not as bad as the suicide loop around D.C.

The area has been under a population explosion for at least 10 years, and possibly longer. Make that 18 years.

There are many retirement areas that could compete with here, but I'm stuck here until I die. I'm done living and working in big cities, with all the pitfalls and problems.

I live in the Highlands, near Loch Lomond, and I could throw a golf ball onto a golf course close-by, but can't golf any more.

Get some brochures from the Chambers of commerce for the cities listed. I live in Bella Vista with woods surrounding me, and when leaves are on trees, I don't know anyone lives in the same area. Can't see their homes.

Thanks! I will get the brochures. This is kinda crazy...I just read about Bella Vista a month ago and thought it looked good. Need to research the climate because I deal with an asthma type problem that gets aggravated around here.

Uh-oh. Most of Bella Vista is wooded, with Oak, Walnut and other usual suspects that would definitely cause asthma attacks.

Grasses galore, with my allergic rhinitis starting May 20th. I could set a watch by it. My wife's family visits at times (they are in Dallas) and her daughter in law starts sneezing the moment they cross the Arkansas state line (so says she)! She sneezes so much that she has to take massive amounts of benadryl.

If it's windy during days with high pollen count, I stay indoors, or venture outdoors with a mask. Eyes suffer, however. I'd look at some common foliage, grasses, and trees online for our part of the state. It could wreak havoc with your asthma...

...I bet you could get more, and better information online than paper brochures. Don't know what I was thinking?

If you need other information about Bella Vista, please let me know, and I'll research it for you. There are outdoor rifle/skeet and sidearm ranges about 7 miles from me. I believe they have a regional skeet contest here every year, if memory serves. I'm a sidearm and defensive long rifle kind of guy, and rangemasters don't like rapid fire or double-tap shooting. Dynamic courses are not setup at that range.

We also have other outdoor ranges very close. Massad Ayoob, and other tactical/dynamic instructors give instruction here, several times a year, at those dynamic ranges.

The new Republican Governor will be no help as promised before the election. He double crossed the NRA, and Md. Gun owners, promising to repeal the bad gun laws, he reneged, saying he needed to focus on the economy.

Considering the new MD. Gov. just took office about 2 weeks ago, aren't you a little quick to make statements like that. I'm pretty sure there is more on his plate from the get-go. than repealing bills (that takes the Legislature to do ) I think the economy of the state is a higher priority to more people in Maryland. I myself live in a neighboring state (from MD. originally) and have C/C permits from 2 states and would love to be able to carry in MD. Hoping the bill to recognize other states C/C Permits will be reintroduced this year, but I'll bet your Democrat legislature will kill it again. I don't go to MD any more than I have to just because I can't carry. If I could and did come to MD more often, I would undoubtedly spend money there, and that would benefit your economy.

You are right SR9. The MD legislature is loaded with liberal progessives. Not in my county but around Baltimore and that swings everything left. These are not folks who love the constitution and want to uphold it...no they just want to get votes and pad their retirement. yes?

He takes office tomorrow..... 1/21

Farmhood
I was raised on the Eastern Shore and my Dad use to say, all the money Shore people paid in, in taxes went to the welfare suckers in Baltimore and the shore got nothing what so ever out of it. Today is still the same, the people tat work, get robbed so those who don't work can stand on the street corner and deal drugs and B/S. It's the Democrat Liberal Lefts Ideology of a good life at the expense of others. Suppose everybody stopped working. What would they do then? You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip.

Margarett Thather once said that socialism is great, until you run out of other people's money.
As for the new Gov., he promised gun owners to try to repeal the bad gun laws, but has already gone back on his word. He said he thought it was more important to work on the economy.

I see you point Frank, but will have to admit there really are some thing more pressing than MD. gun laws. Like the economy improvement so people can work, make money to buy guns and ammo. And like I say Hogan just took office this month. Let's wait and see the action he takes when and if any legislation come through the mill. Too soon to start judging him instead of the Legislature in Md. Remember the Gov. is not the body that makes laws. but, can veto or sign any new laws. There is no "quick fix" available in for our gun problems. Give the guy some time, and base your comments on what he does, and not what he says. Actions speak louder than words. If he fails to sign good legislation into law or veto negative gun legislation, then I will be there screaming with you.

Just read while ago in the newspaper that the bill in MD. to ban assault weapons and restrict mags. to 10 rounds was introduced by the same guy as a legislator that is now the new Attorney General of MD. How did MD. voters let that happen. Seems he might be more of a problem that Hogan.

3 liberal counties with partners living on government subsidies swing everything the progressives way. It will all turn around when folks get sick of all the taxation like taxing rain or something. Oh wait a minute the last Governor already got that going Opps...

Oh yeah. and now O'Malley wants to be President of the United States. Oh what evil he could do then.

Harford county just became the first county in Maryland to repeal the rain tax. It is a start.

Wonder if this is a good and substantial reason:

WALKERSVILLE, Md. - Maryland State Police in Frederick say there was a shooting Thursday night at the Goodwill store in Walkersville.

Troopers say they got the call just after 9:30 p.m. to the store at 8415 Woodsboro Pike.

They say the security guard was shot four times, and was airlifted to shock trauma. The victim is listed in stable, but critical condition.

Troopers are still looking for the suspect.

Maryland State Police were assisted by the Sheriff's Office and the K-9 units. This is an ongoing investigation.

Update on CCW 1st time renewal. Letter came in the mail today approved for 3 more years. I provided a load of documentation and certification..... it came in 57 days!
