My brother was in the USMC in the 1950's & he used an M1 for the manual of arms.
I was in during the 1960's & used an M14.
Just curious what they're using now in boot camp? Are they issued AR15's? or M16's?
I served in the USMC from 1989-1996. During that period, we were issued the M16A3 which was a select fire for semiauto or 3 round burst.
Currently, most infantrymen are issued the M4 Carbine which uses the same select fire system as the M16A3.
