Man crashes car into walmart, attacks customers

In a carry state, would shooting be justified?

This happened in California, go figure...

4 hurt in crash, attack at California Wal-Mart

Justified to shoot? I'm thinking so. He used a car to break into the building, then jumped out and attacked people with a blunt object. The details are vague, but it says that one person suffered "serious injuries." The whole thing spells out C-R-A-Z-Y, and psychopaths don't stop attacking until you make them.

When we go to Walmart, I always carry. And my wife says "It's only walmart." Yeah, it's like a frickin asylum in there lol

I made it a public poll so we can see a tally because I'm sure an argument about morals will derail the whole thread. :nono:

If I ever see some nut job crashing a vehicle (a deadly weapon) into the local Wal Mart (or any public place) and then the maniac gets out of his/her vehicle and starts attacking people with an unknown object (another deadly weapon), you can rest assured that I would have to assume that he/she's trying to murder/kill someone and if I have a good clean shot, I will light him/her up @ center mass....

But that's just me.

Since this happened in the Socialist State of California, anyone using common sense and putting the assaulter down would probably be charged with all sorts of crimes. However in most other locations, including my state of Kansas, it would be justified. I, too carry at Walmart, especially after dark. They have a "security" car driving around the parking lot of my neighborhood store with this "neat" flashing yellow light on top. If somebody wants to do something bad, they can tell when "security" isn't around and they can do they evil deeds. I don't think the security car would deter anybody but guess it makes Walmart less "legally" responsible if a bad guy does something bad there.

I like those cute little security cars. The Oakwood Mall in Eau Claire has one. Not that they can do anything. I was popping the ziploc seal on a bag of beef jerky once just to make a big boom and watched mall security run around with their hands on their walkie talkies, like they were guns. It's hilarious how people think unarmed security can help them. This same mall has no guns signs on two entrances to the wraparound parking lot and 3 undersized ones out of the hundred or so doors stating the no guns policy.

Justified to shoot? I'd say yes. And my wife laughed at me one time too when I went to WM armed. I told her you never know. 2 weeks later at that same store, her friend was mugged there and they got away....

Carry on peeps!

Crashing the car into WM is a "maybe". Getting out and beating on a bystander with a blunt instrument is a "probably" - provided the "bystander" had not attacked the motorist.

I couldn't imagine not carrying in my local Walmart. It's on the reservation, and let me tell ya, its helluva place. If I'm not around I make my wife take backup. In the forms of a 38 and a Doberman. Who is a 70lb lap dog. But the bad guys don't know that.

This appears to be a very good example of a justified use of deadly force, however without being there and seeing the "Blunt object" or the exact circumstance of the attack it's hard to say yes for sure. I never go to the big cities, or anywhere else for that matter, un-armed. And by constantly pointing out to the wife how many instances of crime take place in Walmart or malls and their parking lots she now carries too.

So now what's she saying now about it?

Check with your local laws on this matter. Here, if you can get away and choose to shoot instead, you are in big trouble.
