magnum research 1911

I have been looking into getting a 1911 and I stumbled upon the magnum research 1911, the same company that makes the desert eagle. From the few reviews that I've found it seems like a solid weapon, especially for the price (apx. 800). I was wondering if anyone here had any hands-on experience with one of these.
