Made a target stand

I normally hang my paper targets on a tree stump but after a few hundred rounds, the stump has had enough. So I built my own target stand for around $20 and it assembles in 1 minute, and packs up nicely to put in your car. I would suggest making one like this if you do not enjoy paying to shoot at a range. Just uses a 10 foot section of PVC pipe, a couple elbows, and 2 pieces of wood.

Got the idea from these websites:

Even cheaper option!

Go to the "Free" section of craigslist.

Search for "pallets."

Used forklift pallets stand up to a week or two of heavy shooting. As a bonus, you have lots of kindling for your fire pit or wood burning stove.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. :)

Sure beats my ripped 2x4's. Worked well but heavy as heck. Will definitely have to try the PVC, makes sense. Like the wood verticals as well. Thanks for the post!

These are great, made a set about a year ago used clips on the wood to hold the target.

I used thumb tacks rather than staples to hold the cardboard that supports the paper target. I dont like staples since they will kill the wood verticals after so many times. Clips are a good idea too.

If you fill the bottom ends with sand and cap them off, the stand will hold better in the wind. It will make it heavier, but you won't have to carry something hold it down with.
