Thought I'd share this video I made showing the results of some TLC on some of my Garand and M1 Carbine, nothing more complicated than boiled lindseed oil, elbow grease, patience and some finishing wax.
I'm pretty pleased with the results! What do you think?
Nice job all around. I have a Garand that the furniture could use some TLC. I understand the boiled linseed oil but what is the Tom's 1/3 mix? Did you use any steel wool to smooth the stock prior to the treatment?
I used steel wool on the carbine, but not on the Garands.
They key to success is patience, you just have to let them really dry out for a couple days between coats. I just resolved that I would put in a few weeks on each stock.
