M&P Shield, Ruger LC9, or Beretta Nano?

I am looking for my first conceal carry handgun. I don't want to spend a ton, so I have limited it down to 3 options in 9mm--the SW M&P Shield (assuming I can get my hands on one), the Ruger LC9, and the Beretta Nano. I have only ever shot the LC9 and was a little iffy on the long trigger pull. I have heard the Nano's pull is similar.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Either the Shield or the LC9 imho. Tried out the feel of the Nano the other day at Bass Pro and didn't really care fore it.

I shot the LC9 and the Nano, but ended up with Walther PPS. The PPS just felt more comfortable. I have not shot a Shield so i am not sure how it handles.

I had the LC9 and never did get use to the trigger, so I sold it and got the shield and could not be happier.

I would go Shield, but thats just me. Check out hickok45 on youtube he's done reviews on all those choices. Worth looking into.

I prefer the Shield, though they are a bit hard to get right now. All three are good choices, however I hate that the Nano does not have a slide lock release, and you have to take out the empty magazine in order to close the slide when it's locked back, plus the Nano feels pretty blocky in my hand which I don't like. The Ruger LC9 is a good gun, and has had awesome reviews, however I like how the grip on the Shield feels in my hand, over the LC9. What it really comes down to is what is the most comfortable for you to shoot. If you have a range that will let you rent them I would suggest you rent the LC9 and the Shield and see which one is most comfortable and natural for you.

I now own a Nano and previously owned an LC9 (gave it to my adult son). My only complaint on the Nano is that it's very blocky so hard to conceal in a pocket. It's fine for waist holster carry and shoots great. The LC9 is more rounded and somewhat smaller, so great for pocket carry. Had I know the Shield was coming out, I would have waited for it instead of buying the Nano, simply because I like the way it fits my hand and because of great experiences with other S&W M&P pistols.

I think any of the three guns will serve you well. All are reliable guns from good companies and all 3 are made in the US of A. Get the one that feels best to you.

M&P Shield, Ruger LC9, or Beretta Nano?

I also was waiting on a Shield and gave up..
I research LC9 and others including Bersa.
Walked into a gun dealer and they had a Bersa BP9CC...Picked it up and it felt great and it was $380 8+1 in 9mm and there's a 40 cal...I ended up with the 9mm version and it's great so far.

Compared the Shield and Walther PPS. The Walther fit my hand well, seemed to be of better manufacture and was accurate out of the box at the range.

I feel like each of these weapons is a fine choice (though I am admittedly less knowledgeable about the Nano), but each has drawbacks. For me, It would come down to evaluation of each one's shortcomings and which would affect my comfort with and use of the gun.

They're all pretty tiny, which is good for carry, but also means there isn't much space for my fingers to hold them. Here, I would say the LC9 gives me the most comfortable and confident handling. The Beretta (the only one of the three I haven't handled), seems to fall in last place there. I don't know if there are extended grip mags for the Nano, but i think there are for the Shield, so this point may be moot.

I'm not a fan of the M&P triggers. That hinged design feels like it's going to break off. But it does engage fairly quickly, unlike the Ruger, which has a solid trigger, but its "DAO" (not really DAO) action leaves you with a long, empty pull before you fire the round. The Nano trigger LOOKS like a Glock or XD trigger, and if it feels the same, my vote goes there.

The bulk and roundness of the M&P seems to be the design least conducive to concealed carry, while the LC9 is probably thinner than my cell phone with extended battery (seriously, that thing is CONCEALABLE).

Lastly, there is absolutely nothing on the Beretta that can snag - no slide release, no external safety, no grippy surface material - nothing. That's worth some points to me.

Jeeze. Who knows? it'd be tough to pass judgement without feeling the Nano, because I get the impression it might be my choice with an extended grip mag. Until I can say for sure, I think the LC9 would edge the M&P for me when I come down to its main intended function, which is very light, concealed carry in just about all conditions (though the M&Ps are great guns overall).

I hope that didn't make the decision even more difficult. The best thing is to handle them all.
