M&P shield = Gun of year

MP shield = Gun of year

Yes its true the shield single handly slaps every other gun made this year off the shelves. This gun is the real deal. Striker fired single stack 9 or 40 this gun is just awsome. I put many many rounds through it and have yet had a failure. Best CCW weapon out there. And the price is cheap 375 to 450 is what you will find it for. The trigger on this gun is amazing at 6.5 pounds it can make this little ccw gun a nice little day shooter at the range. An the accuracy is just amazing grouping less than 1 inch at 20 feet is amazing. Gun of year!!!

Too bad they weren't easier to come by! I'm trying to find a 9mm for my CCW but not easy too easy to find. :(

If i were you i would call every lgs in a 100 mile radius. Youll find one sooner or later just keep looking. And if you find one do not hesitate to buy it!!!!

Just got on a waiting list for the 9mm, from all the reviews on this gun, looks to be a really good gun. Would be very interested in feedback from owners of this gun!

I picked up a 9mm Shield Thursday. I had to drive 75+ miles to get it, but I have it. I was on their waiting list and a regular customer had one on hold and decided he didn't want it, and I was the lucky one to get called. Fortunately the LGS where I bought it also has a range and I got to shoot it the same day.(free range time w/ purchase of a handgun). It is sweet. I shot 50 rounds of Blazer alum thru it without a single hiccup. I love the trigger's crisp break. Being as picky as one can possibly be, I have only one complaint. That is the magazine springs. Both magazines become so hard that the last 2 rounds are nearly impossible to insert. I have managed to load both to capacity and will leave them that way for a couple weeks to see if that helps. It has become my every day carry piece.

The gun is really amazing. And yes the magazines are very stiff. I keep mine loaded and iv had my gun for a
Few weeks and its getting slightly better. Cleaning this gun is really easy. Field striping it in less than 10 seconds. Pulling the firing pin out is a breeze. I clean it after i go to the range. This is my daily carry gun i have a desantis iwb holster and its great. Slim and comfortable. It fits great into hands if you have large hands or small. It fits well.safety on it is great. Its stiff but if you wantnto turn it on or off you can do it easily. Dont have to worry about it turning on while holstered. Just a great gun it really is. I havent hurd any complaintsnyet.

I'm on a few waiting lists, and the dealers even confirmed that they aren't easy to come by. But they've got to be out there somewhere. There was one on an auction site that was heavily bidded on and went for almost $500. I guess I just need to figure out and decide what my breaking point is and get more aggressive (especially since I paid more than $500 for my XDm 9mm!)

I've had the Shield 9mm since it was released and I have told others that it is a likely candidate for gun of the year. The first .40 arrived where I work a few days ago. I'm tempted to get it as well.

I got a call back from our Cabellas this morning (outside of Omaha, NE). I was told that not only does their store not have the 9mm Shield, their company doesn't have it. They are waiting on Smith & Wesson to produce more as "they seem to be very popular". She said they were told that it would be late Summer before they got another shipment.

Just an FYI...

And the really good news.. The Apex Tactical Duty Action Enhancement Kit will fit the Shield. Same guts as the M&P auto's.. For those looking to really make it a fine trigger.. 5 lbs and 3/16" reset.. Both my M&P autos have the Apex upgrade.. Now to just get one..

Has anyone compared them to the Ruger SR9 or SR9c which are very nice shooting guns?

My son has an SR9c, and I have shot it several times, It is a fine weapon in every respect. It is slightly larger than the Shield, and not as comfortable to conceal. By that I mean that I can, if I wish, carry my Shield in my pocket without obvious printing. I have not tried, but I doubt that I could do so with the SR9c, in part due to it's thickness. I love to shoot it at the range, it is a comfortable gun to shoot.
