Loose bullets... what to do?

UATKP

Uncle Al
I went to Walmart yesterday and bought 3 boxes of 147gr FMJ 9mm. Limited to 3 boxes per customer per day. Great find!

But here's the problem.
A couple of days before that, I also went to Walmart, and they had some .22 cal.
I bought a box of 250 rounds of .22 Federal fmj, for 9.95. They were just packed in a box... no insert with holes for the rounds... just 250 loose rounds packed in a little square lightweight cardboard box.
When I got home and checked them out, about half of them were loose... I mean the bullets were loose in the brass. Some of them actually wobbly... Anyone ever had that happen?
I've never seen this sort of thing before with any ammo. What can you do about it? Would you shoot it?

Not good as they may end up seated deeper in the case than they should be. That can cause over pressure situations which can be harmful.

They will explode spontaneously. You'd better send them to me IMMEDIATELY for proper plinksposal.

Most bulk 22LR is loose in the case. The crimps aren't that great. They'll be fine.

ROFL, Andrew...
Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I'd never had any like that, so it worried me somewhat... Now I'll give it a try... Thanks again...

I checked my stocks. The only ones that wobble that I have are Remington Golden Sabre. The Remington Viper, American Eagle, and CCI Tactical do not.

I buy Federal Champion at 525 rounds a box, a lot with loose bullets and they shoot just fine, and at $20 a box you cant beat it. My Ruger 10/22 and SR22 pistol eat them like candy, no malfunctions.

Send the loose ones to me for testing......

After careful testing I'll send you a report of the out come.
