I've found that there's no one place that has all the best deals at the same time. In other words, the best deals are sales on a specific quantity, or round, and the deal lasts a week or two and then someone else runs a sale and that's where the deal is.
I've also found it matters what kind of ammo you're in the market for. .223 or 5.56 NATO rounds are always on sale somewhere, and I've seen variances of $50 bucks or more on a thousand-round quantity for the exact same ammo. But .40 S&W or .45 ACP seems to go on sale less often and the percentage off when they do go on sale is less too in my experience.
That said, I've been real impressed with Link Removed of late. They have a very reasonable flat-rate shipping structure - $12 bucks per 1000 rounds, and the calibers can be mixed. They stock all of my favorite brands and bullet/load combos. They also have lots of accessories. It's tough to get them on the line when calling, but the last time I ordered, I tried to call to try to delay shipping my order because I had to go out of town for a week, and didn't want my ammo sittin' on the porch. I had ordered 3 days before and hadn't yet received email confirmation of it having shipped, so I thought I had a chance to put a hold on it. Lo and behold, while I was on the phone leaving a message on their voice mail, UPS pulled up and there was my order. I've ordered from them 4 other times, and it's never taken more than 5 working days to get here. But again, I shop every time I order ammo, and I haven't used Palmetto two purchases in a row yet, because they're not always the cheapest.
Hate to say it, but you're just gonna have to shop around.
