Looking for part-time work at a gun-store.

My job recently cut my hours. I'm looking for part-time work and have a good relationship with a local gun shop. I'd love to put in some hours there on my days off from my regular job.

I need some help, to help ensure I get the job. I have some questions. If anyone has any insight it would be very appreciated.

This is a small, family-owned shop.

1. What are gun shops looking for when they hire salespeople?
2. What key words are they looking to hear?
3. What skills are essential?
4. How should I dress?

...and anything else you can think of.

Thanks in advance!!!

You should already know the answer to those questions and since you already have a good relationship with your local gun shop then why are you here asking these questions when you should be asking the gun shop to hire you.

1. With your good relationship with your gun shop have you not noticed what the good sales people say and do?
2. Key words would depend on the owner whom you say you have a good relationship with.
3. What skills are essential? Ask the owner of the gun shop what he looks for in his sales people and if you have those skills, sell yourself to him.
4. Really? How do they dress in this gun shop you are all to familiar with?

Every gun shop I've been in is different, because owners are different. If you have a good relationship at this particular gun shop, you already know more than we do as to what they are looking for.

Good luck to you in your job search.

True... all true. Just looking for anything I might have missed. I guess if I go in looking like I'm ready to work and I blend-in, all should be well. I love this gun-shop. Family-owned, great salespeople and very friendly.

Sounds like a nice place. If it's family-owned and you are in good with the family, you will be your best asset in that interview. Best wishes to you.
