Looking for a good, reliable, safe, & inexpensive .22

Recommendations?? Go out on some property about every other weekend to fire off a hundred rounds or so. 9mm & .380 ammo are taking a toll on the wallet. My .22 is getting a little long in the tooth. Want a new one to do some regular plinking.

I disagree. The 22a has cheap internals.

If you want the most reliable .22 pistol out there - get the Ruger Mk III.

If you want to save a little money - go with the Ruger Mk III 22/45. (The lower frame is polymer instead of steel, and the grip and controls mimic a 1911.)

These pistols are workhorses! I've yet to have a failure with mine!

Sorry....should have specified my price range....$200. Is it possible to get a good 'un for that price. Those rugars remind me of my browning.

Check out Buy-Phoenix-Arms.com
I have one with the the 5" barrel and a couple thousand rounds so far and no problems at all

I bought a used Ruger Mark II Target just after the Mark III came out. I couldn't see paying twice as for a Mark III standard. I've shot it so much I think it's time to replace the springs. No worries as its easy to get parts.

If you shop and haggle, you can pick up a new Ruger 22/45 for $275 - $290. It's WORTH the extra money, trust me.

A .22 adapter is available for 1911 type pistols, and, I think, for some others. I saw a 1911 adapter for about $200 a while back. If you have a larger caliber semiauto, that might be an option.

No disrespect intended, but if $200 is your price, you need to revamp the title of this thread.
