I'm looking for a gun box with a combination lock; preferably 2 combination locks, with 2 compartments:
1- for pocket-carry sized pistol
2- for magazine and 1 loose round.
I live on the PA/NJ boarder. I'm free to carry on the PA side of the river and virtually banned on the NJ side. It is only a small exaggeration that an NRA sicker on your car is grounds for being shot-on-sight.
When I unexpectedly have to cross the river the best I can do is open the trunk and carry my pistol in the trunk. Even so, it must be in a locked box (or, at least "tied") unloaded, with all ammunition in a separate container, also locked (or, at least, "tied"). OK, I'll jump through these hoops.
I'd like to buy one box for each car that has 2 distinctly-separate compartments preferably with a combination lock on each side. I can remove the magazine, rack the slide to remove the round-in-the-hole, put the ammo on one side, gun in the other, and stash the box in the trunk; and, pray.
I've seen just 1 model box with 2 distinct side-compartments. Unfortunately, it's much too big to fill up the trunk of each of my cars all the time when I need to dis-arm once-in-a-while.
Best alternative I can see is to buy 2 distinct small boxes which - together - would be much smaller than this one 2-sided box I've found.
Anybody aware of a small 2-sided box that would suit my purpose?
