I've been a lurker kinda poster for a long time now, but as a foreign national I've managed the near-impossible, I've got my CCW approved!
All those years ago I wondered if it was doable, from my early days struggling on the farms in 2010!
Four years later and I made CCW status!
It isn't a Resident CCW but is a Non-Resident CCW (Idaho) which covers the PNW areas and Wyoming (where I have land).
I'm one happy camper right now, but have to travel to Idaho to pick up my license, so that's a road trip in itself.
The approval process took about 5 weeks and for those that are foreign nationals you have to provide your Alien Registration Number (Available online from the DHS with passport number etc). The application form will not ask for it, but if you don't tell the DMV people the application will stay in limbo (which mine did for a bit but I checked and they told me the Sheriffs Dept needed it).
So once I gave them that they were able to process things rapidly.
Well I guess I should start posting on this forum more now! It's been very helpful in guiding me through the Non-Resident States that issue CCWs etc. Thanks a lot!
