Local Range Laugh

Well I thought I would go to the range today to check out some of my friends New firearms most of them have AR-15. This local range has a few gunsmiths onsite plus a full firearm store fishing and a live range. Well anyways I was sitting there drinking coffee shooting the ****. Well anyways this woman walks in and tells the guy at the counter can I get a member ship and the man says sure here is the paperwork for you to feel out and it also tells you the fees rules and so on. Well anyways she starts talking about how she would never have a full semi-auto pistol over a revolver because they jam and so on. I am sitting there listening to her yap and yap she does all her paperwork and so on and heads into the range maybe hour later she comes back in from the range after shooting her revolver and is sitting there asking people how do I clean this gun. I could not help but to bust out laughing. I mean she was sitting here knocking semi-auto pistols and you don't even know how to clean a revolver that you have and you are shooting. The point is it does not matter what you carry auto or revolver if you don't know how to clean a firearm properly neither one will work for you very long anyways. Gotta love those gun owners who think they know everything when they don't. We were sitting there asking her if she read the manual that came with the firearm and she said no I threw it away. Just sharing some information.

I was in one of the local shops a couple years back, when a young woman came in with a S&W Model 29 and a question. The question was,"How do I unload it?" Fortuantely, the owner was more diplomatic with the lady then he would ever have been with a guy that did the same thing. I'm sure that she never even fired that gun, much less ever read the manual.

This type of ignorance can be fixed. Ignorance is just a lack of knowledge. Steer these people towards an NRA Basic Pistol Course. These incidents are not only limited to women. A friend was in a small crowded gun shop one Saturday morning, a guy comes in, pulls a revolver, 'Judge' model out of his overcoat pocket, finger on the trigger -- and asks the owner, "How do I unload this thing?, The cylinder doesn't want to open." -- This, while he covered about six people with the muzzle, waving it around. -- My friend said the place looked like it was having a fire drill with the guys running out the door. -- Encourage EVERY NEW GUN OWNER to seek some serious training.

Regardless if its a male or female or guns or cars, ect. Anytime I see someone posturing about how they are knowledgeable about something and act condensending toward others only to find out the most elementary question shows their ignorance, I have no sympathy or patience for them. If she was hot, maybe hit on her, but only for the T and A. I hope she doesn't shoot herself and start crying to sue the gun manufacturer. It's their fault, it's their fault!!

I would've immediately tackled that guy. Being a marksmanship instructor in the Marine Corps, I've had to deal with one or two morons who don't know how to keep their muzzle down range. They usually learn after the first time. The ones who don't...well, we won't talk about them.

I've found that there's a lot of people at gun ranges who like the sound of their own voice, they'll inform and advise you about anything and they always have very strong opinions, that said, it's usually obvious when they have no clue what they're talking about.

Sure, revolver's have their place, but saying you'd never have an auto because some of them don't work is about as ignorant as saying you'd never hire a black person because some of them don't work...

I'll bet she probably had a better command of the English language; including spelling, grammar and punctuation than your post indicates that you have. My wife and I are sitting here busting out laughing at your post, "to check out some of my friends New firearms most of them have AR-15." What? Can your friends only afford one AR-15 amongst them all? Is New firearms a new firearms company? And are you sure that it wasn't your friends' firearms that were mostly AR-15s? Well anyways, "sure here is the paperwork for you to feel out." After you feel it out, maybe you might want to complete it, or maybe you don't like the way it feels. Well anyways, reading your post is like reading some of the texts that my teenage daughter sends from her phone. People in glass houses should not throw stones. Some people should attend basic firearms courses, and some people should attend basic English classes. Well anyways, have a good night.
