Sorry, but I don't have the name of the range in front of me, but there is one between Des Moines and Indianola off hwy 169. It's part of what was Banner strip mines/informal shooting area. The pond/lakes of the area has been turned into a state park now. There is another range just west of Polk City. It's been around for decades, although I haven't been there for some time.

banner shooting range is the name of the range.

olofsons is the one in polk city i believe.

I just went to banner today shot 150 rounds through my 40 s&w and shot a box of clays with a buddy. They have some good deals going in feburary bring a friend and only pay for one range fee,or if by yourself bring a canned good and get 2 dollars off an hour range fee good deal and good cause.

There's one in Reinbeck (Grundy Co.) that is supposed to very good...will be heading out there soon!

Matsell's Bridge has 3 ranges; 200yds, 100yds, and a pistol range that requires a pass.

It is located just 15 minutes northeast of Cedar Rapids.

There is also a range south of Cedar Rapids about 15 minutes at the Hawkeye State Wildlife Area.

There is a free public range in Princeton, Iowa (monitered by D.N.R.)

Bays Branch Shooting Range
Located 2 miles North of Panora on Highway 4, 2.5 miles East on 190th Street in Guthrie County.

Brushy Creek Shooting Range
Two ranges are located at Brushy Creek State Recreational Area. One is south of the park office approximately 1/2 mile North of County Road D-46. The other is a trap range located in the northern section of the park. It can be reached by taking 250th from County Road P-73, then turn right on Taylor Ave. Both are located East of Lehigh in Webster County.Hawkeye Wildlife Shooting Range
Located 2 miles North of North Liberty on Highway 965, 1.5 miles West on Swan Lake Road, 3/4 mile East of Swisher on F12, 2.5 miles South on Highway 965, 1/2 mile West on Amana Road in Johnson County.

Located 4 miles West of Oskaloosa on State Highway 92 in Mahaska County.

Ocheyedan Shooting Range
Located 5 miles West of Spencer on West 4th Street in Clay County.

Oyens Shooting Range
Located 2.5 miles North of Oyens on County Road K-64 in Plymouth County.

Pine Ridge Shooting Range
Located 1 mile West of Steamboat Rock on the west bank of the Iowa River off of County Road S-56 in Hardin County.

Princeton Shooting Range
Located 1/2 mile North of Princeton on Highway 67, 1 mile North on 285th Avenue, East on 266th Street in Scott County.

Spring Run Shooting Range
Located 3 miles East of Spirit Lake on Highway 9, 2.5 miles South on 280th Avenue in Dickinson County.
