The Aurora Sportsmen's Club
Our 50ft, 25yd, 50yd, 100yd, 200yd, and 600yd Rifle/Pistol ranges can handle any rimfire or centerfire firearm legal in Illinois (up to and including .50 BMG). Two Skeet fields (coming soon), three Trap fields (both machines and hand throwers are available), A 5-Stand field and a Ten Station/100 shot Sporting Clays course. Archery includes Field, 3D, and a broadhead ranges. These facilities are open and available to members 365 days per year.
There is no "Open" shooting permitted by non-members. "Open" shooting privileges at the Club are available to Club members only. However, the Club regularly conducts events and provides training that is open to the general public:
Trap shooting and 5-Stand is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 9AM until 3PM. Our Training and Education programs are listed on the Education Page.
Recurring monthly events include Archery matches on the first Sunday of the month from January through October, Rifle/ Pistol match shooting each 2nd Sunday of the month, and Muzzleloading matches the 3rd Sunday of the month.
Keep in mind that these events are matches, not open shooting!
The best way is to e-mail one of the officers or department chairperson on the Contacts page. You may also call the Club at 815-264-9000 and leave a message for the appropriate department. Note that the Club is operated through members who are kind enough to donate their time as volunteers. Therefore, do not expect someone to answer the phone and messages may not be returned in a timely manner. The Club does not mail out literature or brochures as all information is available on the website.

Gun World Range Update
Just received this e-mail update:
"Finally got some steel plate in today and will be able to finish Rang 2 hopefully by this coming Wednesday. Fabricator is heavily involved in some work for the Panama Canal project which is delaying our order. But we should get another delivery this week to start Range 3.
Still waiting on the prototype carrier control system.
Laser Shot scheduled to be in to set up the Virtual Reality range on the 28th."

April 2, 2011 Gunworld Range Update
I received this e-mail the other day:
"Some good news to report this week.
We received a steel plate shipment yesterday so work will start on Range 3 this coming Monday.
The prototype controller was tested and we are about 90% of the way there. Some final tweaking in progress and further test will be Monday or Tuesday.
The Laser Shot range is up and running....way too much fun !!"
Hopefully Gunworld will be open soon in Lombard, IL
