License To carry denial

I have recently been denied a carry license in the state of Pennsylvania. I just purchased a new handgun a month ago and passed all background checks and was curious if anyone could help me understand why a denial would happen if I haven't been arrested.

Someone else is using your ID? Confused ID. Didn't fill out something on the form? They changed the requirements since you applied? Why don't you ask them? I'm sure there is some kind of appeal process.

Is Pennsylvania a shall issue state. If not, there is your answer. Someone in town doesn't like you.

They ask for references, but no one called either on mine. I was kind of suprised, you might ask your references if they were contacted.

Thats odd, PA is a shall issue state, Just got mine in the beginning of December, had it in 5 days after filing initial paperwork. I think you have the right to call the sheriffs and ask them for clarification. I have only heard of one other problem and that was that the guys address wasn't right..
What reason did you mark for wanting it?

Pa is shall issue, just as a point of information. However, the complete background check for pistol purchase
is different from the background check and investigation for pistol carry. There are more dis-qualifiers for carry.
Furthermore, although the process should be uniform from county to county, differences remain, and Philly
is the worst of them all.

Send in your challenge form and go through the process to find out what/where the issue is, then you can
address it.

So..what's the rest of the story? What was the given reason you were denied? Also, people frequently confuse what an 'arrest' is. Were you cited and had to appear in court? Have you had any involuntary mental health commitments? Applicants aren't just denied on a whim..
