Have any of you experienced this situation where you are trying to purchase a gun and are legal to purchase a gun but due to Corporate Policy of a store, aren't allowed to buy it? Say you aren't currently in a state that borders your home state and its the stores policy to only sale guns to state residents and residents from boarding areas.

Yep. Simple answer - go somewhere else. Just curious, what states are we talking about and what type of gun?

The state wasn't the trouble it was the stores. Big 5 and Academy Sports, both of which we have purchased handguns and long guns from but their corporate policy doesn't allow the stores to sell to a long gun, which I am legal to buy in another state besides my residence state, to anyone who isn't a resident of the state in which the purchase is made or a boarding state. In fact, Academy Sports in Odessa, TX, even went as far to say that if we were illegal immigrants from Mexico with a valid ID from Mexico, they could sell the long gun to us because Mexico borders Texas. Wow! Just wondered is anyone else has any crazy situations like that they have ran into. We are fulltime RVers so we frequently purchase long guns in various states during our travels and then we have to return to Missouri, our resident state, when we want to buy a handgun.

This is one denial situation but thought others might have some interesting stories along those lines also. Basically, you are legal to buy a gun but some crazy corporate policy prevented the sale to you.

...say that if we were illegal immigrants from Mexico with a valid ID from Mexico, they could sell the long gun to us because Mexico borders Texas. Wow!

Wow is right. That's one of the stupidest things a gun store person could say.

I am pretty sure you made this one up. Otherwise, Academy Sports in Odessa, TX told you that they are willing to commit multiple federal felonies and you should have contacted the ATF at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867). However, based on how gun stores normally operate, your statement is quite nonsensical.

That is their store/corporate policy, your 2A rights have not been violated. Move on, shop elsewhere.
Yes they have!!! Maybe not by the letter, must most certainly by the spirit. The man wished to buy a gun, a gun the constitution says he can have, and men with money and power have decided that he will not have it. Sounds like a violation and a clear and present danger to our rights.

If Starbucks throws your ass to the street for acting like an ass, that is their right also.

it's not store policy it is federal law, they can only sell you a handgun if it is shipped to an FFL in your home state

We don't have a right to enjoy a latte, we have a right to bear arms!!! And some corporate bigwig is looking to do away with it. What next? Would you be cool with a corporation quartering troops in your home?

A corporate policy not to sell curtain types of guns like Wal-Mart, makes sense to me. That's completely up to them. I am just not sure what advantage a corporate policy has for a company when they have guns for sale and are not selling to all legal buyers.

No it doesn't make one lick of sense. What you are, sandetl, is a victim. A victim of corporate and greed and indifference. It's CEO's and shareholders bending the little guy over and giving him the abner louima treatment. I say we stand together, slap that plunger handle out of their hands, and let our voices be heard. They may have robbed you of your 2nd amendment rights, but they can't take our 1st. Not unless they have a warlock on the payroll who can cast a spell to take our voices away, or something.

There is no reason for me to make this up. I don't lie thank you.

So, you are saying that Academy Sports in Odessa, TX told you that they are willing to sell a firearm to an illegal alien (federal felony) and running the NICS check with a valid ID from Mexico without proper visa paperwork (federal felony, usually doesn't work) or not running a NICS check (federal felony). As I said, if this is true, you should call 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867).

They said they could sell a long gun to an illegal immigrant from Mexico because Mexico borders Texas, if that illegal immigrant had a valid ID from Mexico. Being as they specifically stated, illegal, then I am assuming that would be one without proper visa documentation. I agree with you, I would think and hope that that FFL would not go through the system. But makes me wonder why would a sales associate even make that statement if it wouldn't go through? That is the BIG question for sure!

Both stores stated immediately upon pulling my Missouri ID out that they were not allowed to sell to any residents of states that did not border or live within that state. We said why, it is not against state law there and they said it was Corporate Policy for their stores. I have read some online comments on other groups that some states seems to have this law also but in these cases, both in the same day, and in Texas, that is not the situation.

You are getting more creative, I see. You should run this text by the Bernie Sanders campaign.

And if the local gun store throws your ass to the curb for being an ass, it does not violate your 2A rights, just proves you are an ass.

The 2A makes no mention about anyones right to purchase from the store of their choice.
