Legal Question for premise and target permit

I am awaiting my interview with the judge here in Ulster County NY for my Firearm permit.
Ulster County has recently started refusing all CCW's unless you are LEO or Security. Only "premise and target" as far as I can find out. (Anyone know different, please let me know)
Here's my question-
If I receive a "Premise and Target" permit. How am I to accomplish the task of transporting my newly purchased firearm from the store to my home without breaking the law or violating my new permit?

I have read over the laws concerning firearms, transporting, and permit restrictions. It seems to be a "gray" area at best.

I believe (Tell me if I am wrong) that to protect myself legally. I would be required to contact the Sherriff Office and have them transport the firearm for me from store to my place of residence. I am not on my way nor returning from the range, nor am I at home. I also do not want to be a thorn in the side of local LEO just so I can prove a legal point and protect myself.

I have tried looking for the answer on this forum so please forgive me if this question has been raised before.
Thank You for reading this.

Easy...Go to the range after you pick up your new firearm. I would tend to believe that even if you are stopped on the way home from picking up a firearm, a LEO would not give you a problem.

They are issued for *Hunting/Target* Although this restriction holds no legal repercussions for carrying outside of them, the issuing officer can suspend or revoke your permit.

I would agree with you. My problem is, I have "issues" with the local town cops and DEP police here where I live.
Numerous times they have failed to do their job to even uphold the law and I have called them on it repeatedly. I have gone over their head so many times and so high that they just look for ANY reason to pull me over and cause me grief. They would nail me to the cross for the slightest infraction whatsoever.
I just want to make sure I am covered legally at every turn. Exploring my options and getting opinions.

I believe you were denied a permit for obvious reasons. You have hereby been denied due to the backround investigation and interview.

Guess you will have to move to a new town. This time don't be such a prick and maybe it won't be an issue.

Wow, you think that up all by yourself Ruger? Big man of you to make a general broad assumption on issues you know nothing about.
You are just like all the people I dont like, run at the mouth with nothing substantial to say.

Lunytoon95 was denied a pistol permit, so he is trying to gain support that the judge screwed him.Just from reading his other posts it becomes apparent that he would be denied a permit due to his behavior.

My aplologies. Maybe I was a litle hard on you. If you are on the cops shlt list then you must've done something to piss them off. Usually, when you "go over their heads" it tends not to make friends. That was all I was trying to say.

Really, you can't slap someone in the face and then go ask them to loan you some money. Same scenario.

The "interview" is nothing more than a disquise to deny you a permit for any reason at all, based on the interviewers opinion. If you have been a pain in their ass unarmed, why would'nt they think you wouldn't be more of a pain in the ass armed? Whether it's right or wrong, fair ir unfair, you are pretty much at their mercy unless you get a lawyer and spend a lot of time and money (which would give them a big hard-on because they made you have to jump thru their hoops).

Some of the New York counties are very strict and revoke a permit for up to 2 years if you are caught with a target or premise permit. It is administrative not a criminal charge.Apparently many of the pistol permit holders caught used the excuse that the pistol permit is carry because they were told by someone that there are two types of permits in New York a Carry & Premise. There is case law that the license is in fact a target permit or a premise permit. The county that issues the permit may put restrictions. When you are buying a gun you must bring it back to the police for inspection like they do in some counties than they put that pistol on your permit. Some other counties you make an appointment and go down with the bill of sale make model and serial number of the weapon you would like to ammend to your permit. In a week to as long as a month you well be called to go back and get the purchase coupon and get said weapon put on your permit. That is the only time you have to be carrying your gun when its not being used at the range or when hunting where legal in NY.Make sure you make no stops for gas your trip is to and from range only or when the pistol is being purchased that day when you get it put on your permit.

I don't think you will have to worry about by the sounds of things. Can't kick a bee's nest and then go back later asking for honey. I would not set your expectations to high on this one, espically in NY!
