We will have to see if the shootings go down in Chicago when people start carrying there LEGALLY! I lived there for 12 years and know for a fact MANY did carry there but they were not legal! I never carried there!

But when shootings go down it will NOT be credited to legal CCer's! Also the police chief will never make such a statement unless he wants to get fired!!

Here is my answer to the two, obviously anti"s, who posted remarks: “There’s no research that shows guns make anyone safer" WRONG, two studies have estimated (by extention), that 2.5 million people defend themselves with guns every year. About 200,000 women defend themselves against rape with guns. "please explain why every western civilization proves you wrong every minute....I could list them, and their stats of non violence, but why? when it will just go over your head" Wrong again! The left's shining example of a wonderful gun free country, England, has the highest violent crime rate in the EU, in spite of the fact that violent crime is deliberately under reported. Four times higher than the U.S. In Australia, when guns were confiscated, crime rose 26%, and a new type of crime, not seen before started, home invasion. Perhaps someone who can respond, may post this answer.

Detroit was run (and ruined) by the democrats and unions over a 50 year period. I have not idea what the chief's political leanings are, he may well be a democrat, but you're right, it IS refreshing to see the chief in a large city speak the truth.
