Learning from the NYPD Shooting

Luckily for the police, nobody was seriously injured by the stray bullets and all of the rounds ended up in a persons leg or arm.

Notice how the author, Jason Hanson, puts the welfare of the police officers over those innocent bystanders who were hit by their bullet fragments....

How about "Luckily for those hit by bullet fragments..."

If I was in the situation the cops were and some of my shots missed or injured innocent civillians my life would be over as I know it. The gun-gontrol crowd would use my face as the new poster-face for gun control. Plus in some if not all States there could be crimminal charges of some kind leveled at me. And the lawsuits from the innocent civillians would easily bankrupt me. The police? What about the innocents hit by their gun fire? Would those same police who cover for each other do the same for me considering Im not a cop?

Jason Hanson has never been in a gunfight... he claims he has been in the CIA.... interesting if you look at his picture he looks about 16 years old. If he has been in the CIA, it certainly was not for any significant stretch of time. Also, next to all his credentials on why he is justified to write publicly about firearms he adds he is an Eagle Scout. Really? He'll put that right next to he was in the CIA? I want to hear from real experts who have been in gunfights and understand the "tunnel vision", the rapid heart beat, tachypsychia, the loss of fine motor skills, etc. and find out from these people how to handle situations like this. Jason is not an authority on subjects such as this. He expresses his opinions only... yet in a way in which he broadcasts himself as an authority. A very dangerous combination.

Also, in this situation on August 24th, there were two civilians who gave chase to this criminal before the cops arrived. Had they been allowed to be armed, we could have had an apprehended criminal inside a building (not in the busy streets of Manhattan) without a shot fired perhaps. Perhaps, we could have had a dead criminal inside a building with less danger to innocent bystanders on the streets of Manhattan. But we will never know because Bloom(in' idiot)berg only allows his police force and his personal bodyguards to be armed.

Everything goes out the window when you are being shot at, have been, have been hit, have been robbed, the key is muscle memory, practice, practice, practice and trying to avoid the danger in the first place, I do not leave the home without being in condition yellow, I shoot almost every single week, most of the police officers I know maybe shoot once every 6 months, that's their and innocent bystanders problem. I will protect myself and my family in all cases. Cases in the military will tell you time and time again, some will fight scared as they are some will crap in their pants and unless you have been there you can't say crap about either.

NYPD issues the Speer 124 gr +P Gold Dot which is a BONDED bullet so I'm having a bit of a problem swallowing this "bullet fragments" story.

What I've learned from this incident:

  1. The NYPD continues its decades' long pattern of bad judgment and worse marksmanship.
  2. There's quite literally NOTHING that die-hard defenders of the police won't just excuse, but JUSTIFY. Over and over since the shootings, I've seen defenders of the NYPD treat shooting of INNOCENT BYSTANDERS as NORMAL, and to be EXPECTED.

Here's what I've learned from my study of the NYPD: They are an incompetent group of thugs, where were beatified by 9/11, have been militarized by statist Bloomberg (who sounds he's planning a coup "I command the seventh largest army in the world"). The NYPD has no skill or morals. The entire city ignores the U.S. Constitution. I pray that NYC and California secede from the Union. They are worse than the any Deep Southern PD in the early '60s. (I lived in the Deep South in the '60s and '70s. and live there now. I would encourage New Yorkers to visits places that honor the U.S. Constitution. D.C. is not one of those.

Which is why I will never step foot in that city again. One time was enough for me.

In yet another department study (NYPD), only 9% of the bullets hit their intended targets; 91% of the rounds fired MISSED.

NYPD GUNFIGHT STATISTICS IN 2000
HIT PROBABILITY 9%
SHOTS FIRED PER GUNFIGHT 16.8
SHOTS FIRED PER OFFICER 6.9
We do not have an over-penetration issue; we have an issue around NOT hitting the bad guys.
