LaserMax CenterFire Laser for M&P Shield?

Hello,

Does anyone have a LaserMax CenterFire Laser on their M&P Shield?

The Shield is my only carry gun and I'm thinking of making this addition but would really like to hear from anyone who already has this laser on their carry gun with pros & cons and how it's working out for you.

I just installed one on my Shield and the installation was very straightforward and easy. As I expected, I had to adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the laser spot to match the iron sights, using the provided small hex wrench.

The activation switch is ambidextrous and works easily, with no issues, IMO. Another positive feature is that (in my hands at least) it doesn't become activated except when I want it to, due to the switch being recessed.

The activation switch is easily accessible with your trigger finger, as long as your fingers are roughly an average man's length. My wife has small hands and can't reach the activation button with her trigger finger using a normal effort, due to the shorter length of her fingers. I'm guessing that her hands are smaller than an average woman's hands. The straight-line distance from the switch to the back of the gun, parallel to the slide, is about 4 inches.

Overall, I'm happy with this unit and its performance. The laser spot is bright under dark or indoor conditions, similar to other red laser units. I believe the company claims a battery life of 4+ hours continuous on time per battery, so you may want to get some spares.

I personally think LaserMax makes good laser sights.
