Dillon Blue press October 2011 page 48 "The World's Biggest Army" according to data obtained from deer hunting licenses...

Estimated at 600,000 hunters in WI but that number is higher with 843,000 licenses sold, MI 750,000 with 1.56 million licenses sold, Penn 948,000 general hunting licenses sold...

One heck of a potential domestic army, largest in the world bar none....

Yeah, but a bunch of guys in orange running around with Remington 700s, Marlin 25-06s and Winchester .308s is hardly a formidable force against a 2.6 million strong, highly motivated, gorilla war trained Chinese army regulars. Granted, many of those orange-clad fellas has a weapon a little better than a bolt gun for the rainy day (AR15, AK47, CETME, etc.), but they aren't a big concern to a nation with an army like China. Like Warbirds said: many, if not most, of them are not in the greatest shape.

I would say that China's army is formidable but YOU try to take the beer and cheese away from an armed Wisconsin hunter. THEM BOYS GET MEAN BOUT THAT STUFF!

I've seen this thread before,

Yes how true, adding all the hunters from across the USA would be an impressive Army. With that in mind, it's Amazing that we can not get more laws passed to benefit us.

God forbid another country tried to invade the US.I think we could Strongly stand our ground, and send them back to which they came from. With thier tails between thier legs. God Bless the American Hunters.

What you forget is a great many of those hunters know how to go silent, stalk, can make 100+ yard 1 shot kill shots, would quickly abandon the orange which is only intended to keep them from being shot by fellow deer hunters, and revert to their cameo wear as they do in Bow season, .308 is a primary mil sniper round for intermediate range most on 700 actions, not .25 06 but 30-06 a very popular hunting round used in the all time great the M-1 grand, but even a slug will take out a blue helmet, one more point a large % of hunters are vets......

I said 2.6 million, but there's no way they could land that many troops on our soil before we could start repelling borders, but the 100k they "supposedly" have in Mexico would be hell to take on, even for the 80 million-plus of us who have a gun. You have to remember, silent doesn't always give you an advantage when the enemy has FLIR and night vision equipped air and land craft which would be SUPER easy to smuggle in on one of the million container ships unloaded each year which are never searched or even lightly inspected. And after they establish a beachhead in Oregon or Washington, NoCal, they could move in equips ashore easily. And they could establish a beachhead before US forces or Americas' brave hunters could stop them.

China is bad news, for real! They have no reason to attack us; we make them to dang rich for that. But they know that most of our industry for making war materials has moved off-shore...mostly to their country. It would take a while for our war machine to get pumping out equips to take them on; I'm not just talking about manufacturing, I'm talking about steel and aluminum, copper, electronics components, etc., too... They know that--so do lots of other people--and someone might exploit that weakness just for shits-and-giggles.
