KSG vs. UTS-15 vs. other

Haven't seen any threads on here, and I was just wondering if any of you guys have gotten to handle either of these shotguns. I'm leaning toward the UTS-15, but am open to your opinions/reviews. Are these kinds of guns too gimmicky? Any ideas on how difficult it is to obtain? My cousin said KSGs are pretty scarce and command super high prices. I tried finding the UTAS, but there aren't any local shops that carry them, so I can't even pick it up to get a feel for it. It seems big in the pics. I would use this only for home defense, so I'm not concerned too much with having to carry it through the woods or anything. Thanks in advance for any input you post.

I like the uts 15 better from the videos for these reasons:

1. Automatically switches tubes.
2. Easier to clear a malfunction.
3. Price
4. Standard light laser.

But, in the end, if I were to get one of these new age shotguns, I would get the 1216.

I'm more interested in the Keltec KSG than the UST-15. Here's why:

For the KSG

See the next post for the UTS-15

Idk how you guys can watch nutnfancy, his videos are all an hour long of him rambling about mostly nothing. He makes a lot of good points about the weapons but if you took those points and condensed them down, his videos would be less than 10 minutes long. He spends half the time in his videos defending his opinions on other guns from other videos. I much prefer hickok45. Guy cracks me up and only a few of his videos are over 20-30 minutes.

I've owned both the UTS-15 and the KSG. I decided to keep the KSG and sell the UTS-15. I'm a lefty long gun shooter, and the KSG is more ambi-friendly with the bottom ejection. The KSG will reliably feed the Aguila Mini-shells, whereas the UTS-15 will not. The UTS-15 had the selector switch (originally plastic, but upgraded to metal) break on the first range session. After sending it back to the factory for repair -- the upgraded selector returned broken when I opened the box! The retaining screw must have been over-torqued as it was broken at the head. When the shotgun retrurned from the factory the second time -- I promptly sold it without even opening the sealed box.

The KSG is smaller and more solidly built. It can be manipulated within the confines of a car -- even behind steering wheel while sitting in the driver's seat. My UTS-15 was the "fully loaded" model that was supposed to include the light/laser unit. I never received that unit from the factory -- they initially had production problems and then were on persistent back-order.

I am pleased with the KSG and I would personally recommend it over the UTS-15 hands down.

Where can you buy a KSG? I have seen them on gun broker, but they want were too much. What is a good price for a KSG right now?

Bullpup shotguns are great if you're in tight quarters, like room to room. The advantage of a manual tube change is that you can load each tube with a different round.. say, slugs in one, shot in the other.

i've constantly desired a KSG since i found out about them (shot2013 i think?) but one thing keeps nagging at me... price. let's say i load up with three moss500's on sale and load all of them; i'm still at or under street price for a ksg. granted a ksg or u15 looks cooler and i'm a big fan of bullpup designs. i just haven't been able to justify the money on that, compared to multiple standard tubers stashed around whatever your tactical area may be. am i wrong? not considering something?

excellent point; worst case scenario i have to balance the risk of my backup weapon being used against me (the stashed multiple pump guns) versus the risk of not being able to get to the location of the hicap gun and whether or not i happen to have my carry weapon on me. with money the solution is obvious, however the act of asking here obviates that as a solution. if only my kidneys were more marketable...

versus the risk of not being able to get to the location of the hicap gun and whether or not i happen to have my carry weapon on me.

I could see it in a quick action safe by your nightstand while sleeping and not being readily accessible while in the shower, but other than those times, why would you not have your daily carry on you?

I don't have children, nor do I have them in my house since I don't have any friends who bring kids over, so I am not as worried about having my guns secured in the house unless I'm not there. As such, I have a bedside hanger for an SBR, and one for my handgun on my bed, and if I'm in the shower, I usually have a gun with me sitting on top of the water tank for the toilet, under my change of clothes. I probably sound paranoid, but truth is, I carry most of the time so it's just easier to keep the carry gun close by, even when I'm in the bathroom. As for the SBR, that's a home defense gun I keep close by while I sleep because my bedroom is close to the front door, and has a window on the same porch as the front door, so I want something in arm's reach if someone tries to gain entry at night.

I have someone else in the house who sleeps at the opposite end of the house, on another floor, so if something ever did occur, I have to traverse the entire house to get to her, to secure both of us until help arrives.
