~The Dude Abides~
A man with no history of violence has been convicted for killing a wild, flea-ridden, stray cat.
In a futile attempt to receive some common sense leniency from a Queens judge the man pleaded his case – but the cat loving judge would not buy it.
"I didn't understand the crazy cat's actions, but I had the tire iron to change a flat tire when it suddenly attacked me," said the defendant; Richard Ferrugio.
Queens Supreme Court Justice; Joseph Zayas, sentenced him to a year in jail for beating the stray feline to death.
"I only reacted as natural reaction. I'm not a criminal and didn't want to plead guilty," said Ferrugio who is worried about his mentally ill father's well-being because he is the sole provider for him.
The judge wasn't moved by Ferrugio's argument.
