Stirrer of the Pot
Picked up a PF9 earlier this week and took it to the range today. Been looking for a pocket-sized 9mm for a little while now. I've heard and read a lot of good things about it and when I had a chance to handle a co-worker's PF9 I decided to make the jump.
70 rounds with 1 FTF (possilby my fault. It was the 3rd round fired. Didn't happen again) and 1 FTE. Both malfunctions were cleared with a quick pull of the slide and the gun was ready to fire again.
On the downside, the fit & finish is nothing to brag about although it's about what I expected from a $289 pistol (I got the hard chrome slide. It's a little more expensive). The mag release is located in a spot that's a little inconvenient for me as it's right where I like to put my thumb. I had to concentrate on keeping my thumb up a little in order not to drop the mag. The trigger sits a bit forward within the trigger guard making for a tight fit for anyone with thick fingers.
On the upside, the recoil was actually pretty reasonable considering how small and light the pistol is. The sights are good and highly visible in spite of being low-profile. Accuracy was very good....well within what you'd need from a pistol like this. Other than the lone FTF and FTE, the action was pretty smooth.
I won't start carrying this pistol until I get 200-300 rounds through it but so far so good.
