Kel Tec KSG. A Good but not great shotgun.

I almost picked one up last year. Only problem was my only LGS that had one recently got a new owner who's a total idiot. He spent the entire time I was looking at it ragging on it telling me what a horrible gun it was. I could tell he didn't have a clue what he was talking about but he talked me right out the sale because he was so annoying. Ended up getting a Mossberg from a different store. Might still get one if a different shop gets one in.

The various reviews I've seen over the years have indicated that it's an OK weapon, but not a combat shotgun... not yet. I'll stick with a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.

I got lucky and got a Benelli Super Nova (12g pump) for a song. Gun store I visit does consignment, and the owner accepted 3 rolls of war nickels for it. Technically $6.00, but about $180 for the silver price. Anyway, I would never look at a new on because of the price, but if you value quality you won't be disappointed.

Holy crap did you guys not learn anything from Joe Biden's video? You only need a double barrel shotgun to fire those 2 blasts in the air...so what do you need with another 13 rounds?!

On a more serious note, looks like a sweet option for a home defense gun. Other than the pics I just googled, I've never seen or heard of these but I would definitely be interested if they get the quality up to their price point (not that I even know the quality isn't, I'm just going from the reviews I've read).

Before I got my Benelli I was looking at the Mossberg "chainsaw". Never could see the reason for a shotgun with just a pistol grip, but this one adds a new twist for a reasonable price. MSRP is $525, but my local gun store had them for just under $400.

I've heard/read many of the same reports about the KSG that the posters here have mentioned. My question is have any of you heard anything (good or bad) about the SRM 1216? It's definitely an interesting shotgun to say the least and it does sport the same 16 rounds the KSG has, but I haven't seen any decent reviews yet.

Ya I wouldn't mind an m4. Unfortunately I can't afford a $2000 shotgun, so I settled for a mossberg 930spx. Still an awesome shotgun and I love it.

Haha i know what you mean. I settled for a stevens 320 and ended up sending it back 3 times. They finally upgraded me to a 350 with the A2 stock and pistol grip. We will see......so far it's not having soft strikes.

Ya the mossberg was having issues cycling birdshot at first but after the first range trip and a liberal cleaning and lubing afterwards she runs like a charm.
