Just stoped for open carry in ihop

Sorry to hear about your rights being violated so egregiously. I can say in Wisconsin that the LEO would have been in violation of state law by demanding a permit solely on the basis of being legally armed. I would have gotten the officer's name and recorded the encounter with my phone.

A good answer to the permit demand would have been "do you mean the 2nd amendment?"

Awesome, LMAO

Oklahoma is on the verge of passing open carry. I will probably still carry concealed but I like the open carry idea...in case I want to carry
my .357 or .45, I don't have to worry about them showing!

Good summation Outlaw, me too. Why any other way?

Carrying a weapon is not like wearing a new shirt but for some of these kids it is still a novelty until they may have to use it in the gravest extreme. Some may do Ok while others will have a creek running between their legs.

Stay safe,
T

I'm pretty sure in the state of Indiana, you must produce evidence of a permit to carry.

I live in Evansville, IN, and kind of a big issue happened not too long ago. Indiana just past a law last July that stated that if you have a Permit to Carry then you can carry anywhere except for School Property, Hospitals with a Psychiatric Ward, or any building with a courtroom in it. A gentleman was OCing legally at the zoo last August I believe, after state law had passed. A few of the other people visiting the zoo that day saw the man's gun, and reported it to the zoo staff. The staff called the police. When the police arrived, they approached the man, asked him for his permit, then asked him to conceal his weapon. The man refused so the police escorted him out of the zoo. Huge mistake. Evansville's city laws were still old and outdated. The man sued the city...
