Just moved from FL to TX. CC question?

Hey everyone. I just moved from Florida to Texas and had to surrender my Florida Drivers License and get a TX one. Does this make my FL Concealed Weapons Permit not valid anymore because of the address change and do I need to get a Texas Permit? Answers will be greatly appreciated!

Nope...you're good! Texas doesn't say anything about the carry license and driver's license having to match up and they honor Florida's carry permit. I would learn up on CC laws there though as they differ from most states. For example, it is illegal to even imprint in Texas

It is not illegal to print in texas.

Texas Government Code - Section 411.171. Definitions
(3) "Concealed Handgun" means a handgun, the presence of which is not openly discernible to the ordinary observation of a reasonable person.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, “‘Concealed’ means that the weapon cannot be visible, and that its presence cannot be discernible through ordinary observation. It is a criminal offense for a license holder to carry a handgun in plain view, or to intentionally fail to conceal the weapon.”

Even unintentional display is not illegal, as long as you correct the situation once you are aware that your firearm is visible to others.

Apparently it was illegal to print at one point. The app I use (Legal Heat) is usually fairly up to date. In there they say, and I quote, "No open carry (or "printing") allowed even with a permit with very few exceptions..."

Makes me wonder how behind they are with other state's gun laws considering that it is my primary source of firearm laws. Goes to show you that you should always double check
