Warning shots are a bad idea! Also having blanks in your magazine is another bad idea. You could be in trouble with LE and you may have a blank chambered when you NEED a live round. Or there may be a live round chambered when you think there is a blank chambered.

But you do what feels right for you. I for one will not have blanks in my carry!

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but the idea of warning shots is totally foolish from my perspective. If you're ever in the situation where you have to draw your pistol in defense, the last thing you want to do is waste time making noise with warning shots.

If you worry about not being able to hit the aggressor without doing harm to bystanders, I would recommend more range time to hone your skills. Practice until you think you're really a great shot…then go and practice some more. You should never have to worry about misplaced shots, if you do you might re-think carrying a gun.

I don't know what the law says in your state, but where I live, warning shots are against the law. If there is a threat against my life, I'll just shoot the hell out of the S.O. B. If there is no threat, there is no reason to shoot warning shots or aimed shots. As simple as that.

Many times blank rounds won't cycle a semi-automatic, then you're stuck with a FTE. IMO not a good scenario in a life or death situation.

I think a lot of them are born from the "giveaways" this site does. Blanks in a carry gun is almost as idiotic as this: Link Removed . At least a blank would not jam the action preventing you from manually ejecting it.

In my opinion there is never a good time for blanks. I have been known to pull my shot slightly and intentionally miss the target; giving the same result as a blank.
