surprised at how firearm friendly they are at my local jiffy lube. my other gun that i was not carrying was in my door they said nothing to me except nice gun sir then proceded to tell me about the type of oil he used to protect his personal firearms " lucas gun oil" not a bad choice i must say.

well I'm glad they were friendly...but I can't help but be bothered you left a firearm, I'm assuming loaded, in your car with a bunch of strangers working on it...

You would be surprised how many cabin filters I replace on cars and find a pistol in the glove box. The most recent was an XD.

I had something like that happen ... the mechanic was looking for the wheel locks to get my tires off and unlocked the glove box where my backup LCP was sitting. He joked about the small caliber and we had a nice couple of punch lines about it, nobody freaked out or got all alarmed. Amusingly I actually had my XD9SX on me all the time but I did not see any need to get into that. (The place was not posted so there was nothing wrong with carrying there).

For the record I did not leave my gun I was standing close by talking with the tech who was working on my truck.

That makes me feel a little bit better...I just don't feel it was right still. But to each his own, you can do what you want, I have no authority or desire to tell you to do otherwise. Be safe out there.
