What is the first thing you do if you are forced to pull your gun in self defense?

Front sight, press the trigger, continue until threat has ended... Wait, that is more than just step one.....

If you really want to break it down, here are the steps. Obviously with practice this blends into one smooth action, but it's important to separate and practice each. Slow is smooth. Smooth becomes fast.

- Ascertain the threat
- Access
- Grip
- Pull
- Rotate
- Safety Off and Join **
- Extend
- Stop breathing and aim
- Squeeze the trigger

** Note...depending on the proximity of the threat and time allowed you may shoot one-handed from this point rather than joining and extending for a two-handed shoot.

Wow. My guess is that
If you have to ask that question, the answer is going to be ... Check yourself for injuries, you just got shot.

You joined this forum today. The OP was your first post. I'd suggest you put your dad's computer away and go back to your room in the basement and figure out how to get a job.

This is exactly correct, the tell tale signs of a troller are:

1> A very small number of posts, generally under 10
2> A completely controversial question (Such as what if I shoot someone in the head for squirting water on me, but they may have had a knife too, or a question equally as dumb)
3> Generally they use the incorrect terms for items as well.

With your other hand slap really hard and yell, "I don't know you, that's not your purse!" Don't be afraid to leave a red mark. Try spitting in their face and yelling, "I have hepatitis!" I got this tactically correct information from condition tactical butterscotch. Hope it helps.

What is a troll?

Can someone explain what a troller is and what is the point? What are they trying to accomplish?

A "troller" or "troll" is someone:

- who joins a forum he is not really interested in, or whose theme/beliefs run counter to his own.

- who becomes just familiar enough with the subject matter to generate controversial posts designed to provoke responses of alarm, hostility, heated debate, etc.

A troll "gets off" by stirring up a bunch of responses in online forums. They really are pathetic forms of life.

Problem is...if we as a community scream "TROLL" at every new poster who says something we perceive as stupid...we ultimately come off as elitist snobs, scaring off all newcomers.

When that happens, the trolls (again, whose beliefs often run counter to the theme of the forum) WIN, because now our ranks cannot grow.

Good moderators help, by deleting troll posts and sending explanations to the posters (just in case they are legitimate). Unfortunately, this is a pretty un-moderated forum.

So it's up to us to find a balance and figure out who the trolls are, vs who the noobs are.

Oh and as an added bonus...on THIS forum we have to deal with the anti-gun lobby. These folks are sneaky.

Sometimes they pose as pro-gun reporters.

Sometimes they pose as students researching a paper.

Sometimes they simply troll, trying to get someone to say something stupid or argumentative...which they then will quote out of context. "SEE WHAT THOSE RADICAL GUN NUTS REALLY THINK???"

Jesus Phil, I've said this before and yet, there are some seriously hard core 'militia mentality' ideologies on this site that just turns my stomach. If I had no clue about 2nd Amendment rights and no opinion on firearms and reading what some people post, I would advocate for gun control too. But I've always appreciated a lot of your posts and obvious knowledge of firearms which is why I joined a site like this to expand my own knowledge. For now, I'll stick it out. :thank_you2:

I apologize for what looks and sounds like a stupid thread. What I really meant was what is the next step after stopping or shooting the threat. Sorry.
