im new to the itwb style holster and need some help. i have a little spair tire around my waist and hate wearing baggy jeans and normally dont use belts, with this type of holser is it easier to just get pants one size larger to carry a full size 1911?

I use the CrossBreed holster for my carry holster and it is awesome. I also at least two who use one for their 1911's too. Works great.

I use an Old Faithful 1911 kit, like the supertuck, but I put it together myself, no muss, no fuss. Works great, and I also have a bit extra padding around the middle.

I'm with the majority here, Crossbreed is such a great company with a great product. I used to wear a Minotaur MTAC, but the Super Tuck is just perfection!

Everyone likes the crossbreed so you can't go wrong trying it, but I use an n82 tactical pro and it conceals a g22 when I carry it instead of the g27. As far as the pants; if the size you have is a little loose you may be able to sneak it in or go up a size, my size all depends on the brand of pants. Be safe and good luck with finding the right combo to fit.

I share your size issue, but have had no problems whatsoever. I use a Kholster IWB for a Ruger SR9c and a Springfield 1911. Both work great and conceals great. I wear the same size pants as I usually would.

I have the crossbreed for my Colt 1911. Did not change pants size and it works well. Use a sturdy gunbelt too.

Maxtuck. Same basic design, but better features, and cheaper. Took me 4 weeks to get mine. +1 on the good belt too.
I didn't have to change my pants size.

Some folk go up a size though I never found it necessary.

I have a Crossbreed for my Springfield Armory XD 9, and a Galco King Tuk for my Glock 17. I prefer the Crossbreed it feels thinner. I did go up a pant size and purchased a gun belt and have no issues.

Ever considered a Smart Carry or 3 Speed holster?

I agree with the 3 Speed. That is one comfortable holster. You can use it with shorts, sweats, jeans, whatever. I have a Cross Breed too but I have not used the Cross Breed since the 3 Speed showed up.

You shouldn't need baggy pants for carrying a 1911 IWB but I would recomend a belt, as a full size 1911 has a bit of weight to it!
