Actually, the problem ARE people just like you, who stubbornly will not let go of the "Thread" of American life as it was before the first bombing done to the Towers and the subsequent airlines crashing into them that announced this (get ready for it) HOLY WAR.

Unfortunately, we ARE in a Holy War (in the 21 century) and we will continue to lose this war as it intensifies (and it will) until this ridiculous form of political correctness, crammed down our collective throats by the Government, outside/foreign entities, illegal aliens, the ACLU, and anyone who cannot LEGALLY advance thru the "systems" that are in place, are removed from our mindset (and laws) and we begin to think, see, and act for ourselves. Advance without the fear that our own government (that is suppose to be "Of the People, By the People, and For the People") would ignore existing laws that would harm the People of this nation (in essence hurting itself, as the Gov. is "Of the People") in order to help and defend the Illegal activities and actions of outside/foreign entities and illegal aliens.

Anyone want to bet as to whether this Man/Woman/Boy/Girl (Cocked and Locked) is in reality a Socialist, Progressive, Liberal, Muslim Plant; placed in this site to cause confusion, unrest, mayhem, anger, and distrust towards each other for the sole purpose of dividing us? Maybe in your home when you were growing up nogods, that is if you ever did grow up toys was your only goal but not in mine. Maybe GOD and JESUS was not a part of your Christmas but Christmas in our home while I was growing up was all about GOD and the birth of GOD's child, the baby JESUS. The most important decoration that was place on our property was the mainger and all the assorted pieces of history that went with it. Yea we all as children looked forward to Christmas morning and what would be under the Christmas tree but their was not much because it was not about the gifts as much as the celebration of the birth of JESUS. I think each of us kids might get a toy or two an the rest would be clothes and shoes. Things we would need to make it through the years. My children were raise in a similar manor. They got a few toys each and the necessities of clothes and shoes and maybe a new coat. But first and foremost from Childhood GOD AND JESUS was Christmas for my children also. All my children are now grown and have Children of their own and even those children are having Children and in each home at Christmas GOD and JESUS come first. There are toys but there are also the necessities under their Trees also. My Family will for ever remember the reason for this season and it will never be the malls and walmarts. The reason for this season is the birth of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. I am sorry if I have gotten off the topic slightly but the subject is about religion. To add this one note, I did not buy one gift for any of my family this year. We will all gather as we do every year for a feast and celebrate the Birth of JESUS. The only few gifts that got bought were bought for the small children by the parents and believe me no store got rich off my family. If this is not a suitable post it can be removed.

In reality, Christ did not "happen" to be born near the winter solstice (or maybe he was-that would be perfect in the grand scheme). We celebrate his birthday on what used to be a pagen holiday. When Rome officially became a "Christian state" and wanted to celebrate Christs birth, there existed a holiday already "a pagen Holiday". That day was selected as it would cause the least amout of uproar, and the people would be able to celibrate as they did every year before.
Why wouldn't it be the biggest marketing campaign? It is the Best selling book in the history of Mankind that is read and BELIEVED by the most powerful nation on this planet that also happens to be the most free, allowing ANYONE who is a legal resident (regardless of their religious beliefs) to succeed and rise above the dirt. Then it was ambushed and a lot of (un)suppressed rage came out. Let's clear this up!

I am no atheist, nor am I a blind apologist for Christianity or Judaism or any other religion. If you look, though, to my original post here, Post # 41, you will see my point. Critics are blasting away on this thread about ancient origins and bad parts of Christianity, etc.

However, for simplification, focus only on today: the Spanish Inquisition is not a threat to today's Spaniard--or any airline passengers, for that matter. Radical Fundamentalist Islam--regardless of its (horrendously bloody) origins and history--IS, TODAY, THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THREAT TO THE PEACEFUL ENJOYMENT OF LIVING FOR ALL OF THE PEOPLES OF THIS EARTH!

Conflict with Islam is the root cause of most of the really important small and large armed conflicts extant today; conflict with Islam is the reason why your air travel sucks (see Post #41).
