Is the Ruger LC9 an accurate pocket pistol?

Is the Ruger LC9 an accurate pocket pistol? What is? I've had the Kel Tec p11, the Ruger LCP and the Bersa Thunder...The Bersa was the best in my hands but too heavy for Summer carry.

i think the ruger lc9 would be a perfect pistol for me ..easy to conceal too......i'm still keeping my fingers crossed in hopes to win it in the concealed carry giveaway coming up sooooooooooooooon!

the winner of the giveaway was called .......dang it all it wasn't me so i'll be carrying my browning around still rather than wining that lc9 to carry.......and will get my own holster for it very soon and on the look out for a good gun belt too as i was borrowing a friends till that giveaway called the winner.........!@#$%^&*()_+=- so when i get my own i give my friends stuff back ......

I just rented the new sprinfield XDS, only a hair bigger, but shoots .45....Very nice gun, I would may have to add it to my collection soon...I would check it out as well or the M&P shield has some very nice qualities as well. I own the LCP and am still considering the LC9....but more than likely I'd go with the XDS before either 9mm.

I absolutely love my LC9, but I say that every time I get a new pistol---don't we all? I've pocket-carried with a number of guns, always increasing caliber. Keep EVERYTHING out of your carry pocket, practice drawing and shooting; shooting well that is! Get rid of that useless laser, if you have one. It's just another hindrance to the quickest response possible.

The LC9 is as accurate as most guns. Accuracy comes in the hands of the shooter, not the gun. I have the LC9 and can honestly say that in a defensive shooting area, 15 to 20'; I can triple tap rounds into the center mass on a B-27 silhouette target.

We will have to agree to disagree on this one. Use that laser to help learn the trigger of the LC9 using snap caps. I have 4200 rounds downrange and over 2000 snap caps fired. Snap cap practice helped me tremendously when learning the long trigger pull.

I had to learn handling my trigger finger a little differently than on my Beretta 9000 (compact 9mm) and my Ruger SR40C. There is more room on the larger guns from the grip to trigger. On my LC9, I was gripping the trigger at my joint on the LC9 and pulling my shots to the left. It took range time to learn to adjust and now I am getting more consistent. At 3 to 5 yards, I am getting very good groups so a bad guy would be subjected to some definite discomfort at that range. I can hit center mass at 7 yards and at 10 yards OK. Double or triple tapping is more difficult than on larger guns because of recoil, but I am getting better getting back on target. I am starting to train using the laser, knowing that the laser on his chest may be enough to cause a bad guy to back off or stop. Like shooting, learning to use the laser effectively takes practice,

I have had mine for a couple of months. One thing I like on the LC9, although trigger travel is long, it is steady and consistent so easier to know when it will go boom than on some other guns I have used. It is important to get plenty of range time in with this so you will know how it will perform when needed.

I use this as my everyday carry in a pocket holster now. I am thinking of transferring it to a cross draw holster on my belt as I will be carrying it as my backup to my SR40C as cooler weather approaches and I can alter more the clothes I wear. I sure recommend the LC9 as a concealed carry.

I've already responded to the LC9 being my favored CC pistol. I just sent it out to the refinishers to have the slide Cerakoted (Corvette Yellow), and will replace all the springs, plus add the new trigger bar and trigger (red) offered by Galloway. I know some of you will say "why did you do that." My response is: why not! The only people who will see it are at the club, and the Cerakote will keep the slide from smearing its finish in hot weather--which is why I had it done in the first place. I'm not a wheel-gun guy, so it took quite a while to get used to trigger pull, but I hope with the new trigger and internals that travel and stacking will be cut down dramatically, thereby enhancing operation. If anyone is interested, I'll post pix when it's done.

I just got a rain check for the LC9-LM from Bass Pro Shops because they had a sale and none in stock, only rain checks. They couldn't tell me when it would be available. My point is about what you intend to do to yours. I am very interested in seeing the completed results and any additional positives about the changes. BTW: The sale price was $399.97 and store is here in southern California. SoCalCCW

LOL, I just got my LC9 because of the Bass Pro sale also, BUT! I got mine at a local gun shop where I have purchased before. I went in, showed them the flyer from Bass Pro and asked if they could come close to matching the price so I could buy from and support them instead. I got it for $410 from my local shop and the savings in gas and time and good relations made up the $10 difference easily. I like Bass Pro, but would rather keep my local folks in business so I always give them a chance to come close to matching what I can find on sale somewhere else. Oh and I have mine in hand right now cause they had it in stock ;) I am a wheel gunner, but like the feel of this little pistol just fine :)

Shot 1000 rds already with my LC9 not one missfire or any other problems,Going to Bass Pro and buying the SR9c a awsome gun
