How many people carry a 9mm as their main CCW gun? People seem to think 9mm is the most popular, but I meet more and more people that carry different calibers. Revolvers, smaller calibers, and larger calibers are carried a lot. Two instructors I know recommend lower calibers to many and also recommend revolvers for first time shooters. It seems to me the 9mm semi-auto has reached it's peak and has now leveled out.

I mainly carry a glock 27 .40 cal but ill carry my glock 19 9mm a lot too. More rounds = more chances and easy to control....

I switch off between my SA XDs .45 and my Sig P938 9mm. Just depends on my mood. I have compete confidence in either pistol and the stopping power of either caliber.

Based on what I sell the most of for cc, I would have to say yes, 9mm is by far the most popular.

Either a Shield in 9mm or a .357 revolver, depending on what I'm wearing. The Shield conceals more easily, so usually that one.

Howdy,

EDC is a Glock 23 .40S&W. Truck gun is a Taurus PT845 .45acp.

The only person that I know personally that carries/carried a 9mm switch to a .40S&W after using his 9mm, a Ruger P89, in a self defense shooting when his was carjacked.

9mm ammo was and is cheaper still. So I think that plays into it to. I carry a 9 every day. My business partner carries a 1911, he always tells me how much more ammo cost. even when we go to the range once a week we compare cost, his reloads, that he does himself cost as much as my reloads I buy.

Can't help but be curious... what was his reason for switching?

.40 ACP or even more often, .45ACP is what I carry. But that doesn't mean I don't have 9mm also.

Depending on my dress, I EDC a Taurus Ultralite .38Spl snub or a Taurus TCP .380acp... every so often, I may carry something different like my PA-63 9x18Mak but that's rare, that's my truck-gun usually. I always have my NAA .22lr Mini in a pocket as well.
