Is Sarah Becoming A Diva?

If the following turns out to be true I may lose some respect for Sarah Palin. I understand asking for money and even first class tickets but she may be pushing it. Here's an excerpt:

First-class commercial air travel for two or a private jet -- "must be a Lear 60 or larger" -- from Alaska to California and back. A deluxe hotel suite "registered under an alias." And two unopened bottles of still water with "bendable straws."

I'm really tired of Palin. She was impressive at first, but she seems to be a one-trick pony. She's good at rallies, but I don't think I'd ever vote for her as president. She's getting old, and her support of McCain, who I have lost all respect for, was a defining moment for me.

Before you start throwing people under the bus lets compare apples to apples, what do the libs like slick Willie and Al Gore get for their speaking tours. I'm sure they don't do it for nothing. As far as Palin endorsing McCain, she would not be the celeb she is if it wasn't for him so she kind of owes him an endorsement.

Everybody has their own self-interest and everybody has a price...

Her price was rather higher than most of us here could demand.

What is wrong, in particular, with her taking advantage of a situation that allowed her to enrich herself and better prepare for her children's future?

That's how government works, isn't it? McCain gave her a start, and now she owes him. Well, first of all, McCain's crew more or less threw HER under the bus during the campaign. And now McCain is for amnesty - he's a RINO, his wife is pro-abortion and his daughter is a left-wing radical who thinks her father is a fossil, and old people should just go away. And Palin is stumping for him, so that hurts her credibility.

I have nothing against her making money - she's already a millionaire, mostly because of her book and speaking tours. I just don't think she's that believable any more. I think her humility went away as soon as she got a taste of real politics.

+1 There are those in here, and out there who firmly belive that Sarha is going to be the next POTUS. You betcha!
When I see Sarah on the news, or even metioned, the image of Tina Fey, and the Curric interview comes to mind. "I can see Russia from my house".
I don't take Sarah as a serious contender. Sarha Palin is captilizing on their newly minted celebraty status.

Sarha should milk these right wing idiots for all they have. I would, and laugh all the way to the bank.

The right wingers havn't had a good image to worship, ever since Regan. IMO, this is only a flash in the pan. The might have to wait for a very long time for another hero.

Hopefully, the GOP can find someone to defeat Barry. IMO he/she will distance themselves from the right wing of the party. Just to many loose cannons to contend with.

Those aren't necessarily unreasonable requests. Let's take them one at a time, shall we?

Money- payment for services is standard in a capitolist society
air fare- she has to get there and it is standard
a certain size plane- now admittedly, I know nothing about airplanes but maybe she's afraid of little planes or something
registered under an alias- she'd be mobbed otherwise
unopened water bottles- public speakers need water
bendable straws- she can easily drink and still look like a lady and not dump water on herself.

I mean- I like her but I don't LOVE her. But jeez- cut her some slack!

There seem to be very few celebrities that don't get ripped apart under the microscope.
Nothing is new here.
If you take a stand that is unpopular or different from the accepted mainstream, you are pretty sure to be criticied for it.
It makes it hard to sift through and find the truth.

To answer the airplane question, the lear 60 minimum type is six to eight passenger jet, with the range of at least 2.600 miles. It will be crewed by two high time professional pilots.
The later Senator & super libtard Paul Wellstone chartered a turboprop crewed by two unqualifed pilots. These two had failed several fight checks. They were confused on a instrument approach, stalled the wings, entered a spin, crashed and burned. The aircraft was capable, the pilots didn't know how to fly it.
Mrs Palin would rather not that happen to her and entourage. I can't blame her.

As I said, I saw nothing wrong with her asking for money or first class tickets for her appearances. The special water request for Still water and "bendy" straws is pushing it a little though. What's wrong with Dasani bottled water or any other kind of bottled water? What next, a certain kind of nuts and only that kind? I'll wait for the rest of the story but this makes her look like a diva. It's my sincere hope that she's not letting her rocket rise to fame get to her.

Perhaps Still water supports a cause she believes in and she wanted to continue supporting that effort while on the speaking tour? I think Marissa addressed the question of "bendy" straws. I know my wife prefers them for the reasons mentioned.

Wolfhunter, justification can be used to validate any request but doesn't necessarily make it right. I've said I hope she isn't letting her rise to fame go to her head. This happens quite often when someone goes from virtual anonymity to the fame she has obtained. I truly hope she stays grounded because if she doesn't it will eventually catch up to her.

RonWill, if making reasonably justifiable requests makes one a diva, please make a list for me of non-divas. I'm sure it will be a short list.

It would have to consist only of people who have NEVER made a request.

I thought Sarah was all about saving money. According to her book "Going Rogue" while governor of Alaska she sold the state aircraft because it was expensive, and too big.

I started out really liking Sarah but it seems:angry::pleasantry: to me that all she can do now is throw out blips like : How can you tell a bear from a hockey mom..........Get some new material Sarah.

Saving tax payers money and making a lucrative speaking salary is not quite the same. All I have been trying to say here is that I really hope she doesn't get to big headed. This is an ever present possibility for those thrust into the lime light as she was.

From the official CSU web site, in part:

"The Foundation is the only authorized 501(c)(3) entity, as identified by the Internal Revenue Service, for receipt, acknowledgment and oversight of private gifts to the University."

I believe senders of those private donations may have a little to say in how their money gets spent. The CNN article is nothing more than the typical mass media spin on an utterly inconsequential topic to either generate made-up news and/or offer biased political influence.

I normally don't argue two subjects, those are religion and politic's,(and I'm well read in both!). Before we start throwing daggers at former Gov. Sarah Palin, all of you left-wingers, lets take a look at who you foolishly voted into office in 2008 and ask yourselves this; what qualifications did he bring to the office? :yu:

Those who make donations to a foundation may question their board on how the foundation funds are spent, but that doesn't leave room for ANY questioning by the Kalifornia Attorney General. Unless a crime was committed? No, wait, it was already determined that paying a fee to a speaker is not illegal, and none of Ms. Palin's requests were illegal. So, no, Mr. Brown has no reason to stick his nose in this issue, and it would be a non-event if his office hadn't gotten involved.
