Is Resistance Futile in NY?

The Sportsmen Caucus is a coalition of representatives from various Conservation Clubs and Federations along with a group of Assembly Representatives.
Several of the Assembly people that are members of the Caucus voted for the NY SAFE Act. They did not have the stones to stand up to Sheldon Silver and Andrew Cuomo. The Sportsmen on the Caucus voted to ask the Yes Voters to Resign from the Caucus and thus loosing support of Hunters Fishermen Trappers and so on.

One of these was CHARLES D. LAVINE Assemblyman 13'" District upon receipt of the letter he refused to resign and wait until you hear his reason:
Thanks so very much for your recent undated letter thanking me for my past support of the Legislative Sportsmen's Caucus but suggesting that I withdraw my membership due to my not only voting for, but, I presume, for having argued for passage of the NYSAFE Act.

As one of few state legislators who grew up hunting and fishing, I truly enjoy promoting such worthwhile pursuits. I have no doubt that my early firearms training helped to teach me something about responsibility. I have no doubt that the time I spent in 4H influenced my belief in the critical importance of valuing the public good over personal advantage.

So, I must respectfully decline your suggestion and will in fact remain a member of the Caucus. I am afraid ,I will just have to be your cross to bear.

WHAT!!!
I have no doubt that the time I spent in 4H influenced my belief in the critical importance of valuing the public good over personal advantage.
The only reason to vote yes was for personal advantage. Now you get cookies from Sheldon Silver and Governor Cuomo.
There is nothing in the NY SAFE Act that benefits the public good other than the hoplophobic liberals with the Anti Gun Agenda.
What about your belief in the importance of valuing the critical importance of the Constitution over personal advantage or bad law.

Using his logic. If New York deems that minorities sitting in the back of buses would benefit the public good then he would vote for that too?

These guys remind me of the Borg. Which remind me of Marx and Lennon. Everything for the Collective. aka public good.

Anyway, it begs the question; Does the public good as defined by the ruling majority supersede the Rule of Law in New York. By the way in NY the ruling majority is 3 men in a room.

If this is a private organization, and I am assuming it is, KICK his ASS OUT!!!!!! Don't ASK him to resign, wake up people, we are at war.

I've come to suspect that of the 1%-2% of the population that are sociopaths, most of the intelligent ones have gone into politics. Stuff like this just confirms it.

When his current membership is up, do not send a renewal. And don't accept his membership again. Post this all over his district, and with a little luck he won't be going back to Albany again. As far as the "three men in a room", it doesn't help that they are all from New York city. And that won't change either, until we get the will to cut New York city out of what fundamentally is a pretty good state.

No, resistance is only beginning. Start working with your county clerks to get a resolution written and passed that states that the county will not support the arrest, indictment, or prosecution of any such unconstitutional laws. Get your Sheriff Department on board in that they will not arrest. Finally, the people also have the power to employ JURY NULLIFICATION--vote to acquit in any prosecutions--honor your jury duty responsibilities--get on the jury and use your jury vote to vote the law down.

I think that NY voters should have a recall election, if it is allowed. Get these idiots out of office sooner rather than later.

Why ask him to withdraw? Asking him to withdraw is just asking him to rub his ass in your faces. KICK his ass out. I'm sure he has no leverage to force you to keep him - and if he does, disband and reform in some other way that will permit you to exclude him.

And if there is a coalition of NY gun clubs, or hunt clubs, they should black-ball him too. Firearms vendors should black-ball him as well - no guns, no ammo, until his votes reflect a change of stance.
