So you want to punish the pro-gun upstate population because they don't have enough votes to replace the NYC anti-gun legislators?I thought it was cool that the jerk accused Remington of extortion. Hell, if that's what it takes, Remington should simply move out of state and refuse any sales to any NY address at all.
And come to think of it, firearms and ammunition manufacturers - and probably everybody else in the industry should simply boycott NY law enforcement. Likewise any other state that is not 'gun friendly' like NJ, IL, and CA. Let those states use foreign made stuff to apprehend their criminals. That would certainly result in a huge increase in gun purchases in the states in question - but it would all be sales to private individuals. And maybe the (US) industry distributors of foreign made equipment would boycott them as well. THAT would fix their wagons, wouldn't it?
I'll say this again in case there are still people who don't know.is this Schimel person beyond belief ?
Unfortunately, she is very believable. AIDS is believable just unwanted. Her goal is to destroy just as that of any disease. We have made great strides in most places. NY is one of the bad places left. Until the citizens of that State change their voting practice the fight will stay uncertain. Businesses are leaving, people are leaving and the more of this that happens the more pressure there will be on the budget.
The mayor provides a list of businesses that are anti-gun? I no longer purchase from any NY businesses but if I lived there I would keep a current copy of that list so I would know where NOT to shop. Vote, there may not be enough to change the ballot box but vote anyway, even a close election makes them think. Every legislator that is replaced with one that is more conservative makes a difference. And vote with your dollars. It may take over fifty percent in the ballot box but it takes far less at the cash register to effect change in company policy. Another place to look is at a list of campaign contributors for those that support your local politicians. It is their absolute right to support whoever they choose. It is your absolute right to make sure that none of that support came out of your pocket. You may also want to say thanks to those companies that support the good guys.

With the exception of a few enclaves like NYC, NYS residents enjoy largely unimpeded carrying of firearms. Outside of NYC, NYS has more residents with a CCW permit (1.2 million) than some states have total population. We have no laws prohibiting the carrying firearms in bars, restuarants, churches, hospitals, banks, public transportation, etc. How many "gun-friendly" states can make the same claim? NYS enjoys a decent castle doctrine. There are no "shall-issue" states as every state that issues permits has a process for denying certain groups of people the right to carry a firearm. NYS is no different and there is no arbitrary denial process.
The problem in NYS is NYC. Non-residents are treated like second class citizens, although we've recently seen a reluctance of the city to jail non-residents caught with their gun in the city.
Comprising nearly half the entire state population it is impossible for non-city residents' voices to be heard. There just aren't enough votes. Just like Chicago, L.A., and many other large cities, the vote has been hijacked. So why punish upstate NY people or their businesses? What does that accomplish? The city people don't care anyway. They're just too arrogant about their liberal beliefs.
This bill is DOA on arrival at the Senate just as the national right to carry legislation is DOA on Barry's desk. Perhaps the good assemblywoman would care to give up one of her rights... the right to speak freely.
I'll rephrase the question. Why boycott LE. They've done nothing wrong. They represent a huge portion of the manufacturers' sales. Such a move would be professionally very foolish. Perhaps the backlash would be on a national level whereby as a result, all law enforcement boycotts the manufacturer. The anti-gun politicians will not be swayed by any threat or loss of revenue. They can't be reasoned with. They can't be convinced. They don't care. They remain stead fast on their mission to create gun laws that have no hope of stopping crime. Some people may remember what the NYS governor did to the gun industry when he was with HUD (under the Clinton administration).Try reading what I actually wrote. I wrote that the manufacturers should boycott NY Law Enforcement, not the citizens. Cutting off the citizens only accomplishes what the antis want to do. But if they cut off every LE agency in the state, it would likely have some impact that we would consider positive - maybe not on the antis, but on the legislature. And if the legislature won't pass stupid anti-gun bills who cares what the antis think or say?
