Is a Wyoming CCW permit valid in Colorado and/or other states?

I am currently a Colorado resident working in Jackson, WY for a few months. I was going to obtain my CCW permit in Colorado but moved before my class date. If I get my CCW permit in Wyoming, will it be valid in Colorado? And for that matter do you know if it is valid in California and Alaska?

No offense dude but considering the resources at the top of this page that's an odd question...

True, but since it's his first post

AFAIK Wyoming doesn't do non resident permits. AAMF I don't think Wyoming even does permits. If you are a Colorado Resident then get your permit there ( BTW if you have a current hunter's safety card or a DD214 that's less than 10 years old you have already completed the training requirement)

Wyoming does issue permits, but only to Wyoming residents. The way the new law is written, when it goes into effect, only Wyoming residents will be able to legally conceal carry without a permit.

The Wyoming permit is good in AK, AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WV according to handgunlaw.us

Wyoming recognizes permits from the following states:
AK, AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, LA, ME, MI, MO, MN, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV

Not to mention the fact that CO is one of those states that only honor resident permits...so even if you can get a WY permit, as a CO resident it will not be honored in CO.

As a Wyoming resident, Wyoming will still issue permits to residents only when the new law goes into effect July 1st. It will no longer be required to get a permit to carry, however if you want to carry out of the state, many of us travel to other states frequently its a no brainer to get your cfp. And CO does recognize the Wyoming permit.

I have a Wyoming ccw permit as well.

They only issue to residents. And you have to be a resident of the state for 6 months or more if I remember right.

You have to be a resident to cc without a permit.

License question reply

A Wyoming license is good in Colorado and Alaska. it is valid in numerous other states and you should check the reciprocity map section of this web site. However, it is not valid in California.

Wyoming only issues to residents as does Colorado. You need to resolve the residency issue. A Colorado license is valid in Wyoming and Alaska if that is your resident state.

Hope this helps.
