Is a 40 full size pistol (not compact) too big to carry as concealed?

In Pennsylvania, does anyone know if you can carry as concealed a Springfield 40mm full size (not compact)?

A 40mm? You talking about a grenade launcher? You must mean .40 caliber.

Sorry about my manners, welcome to the forum by the way.

As far as wether you carry a full size pistol or not that is your choice pa is a open carry state so if you want to openly carry that's fine as well I live in the Pittsburgh area and I carry a compact .40 cal. The question is are you able to conceal it enough to not give yourself away cause if so you might as well openly carry

40mm hahahahah ummm no thats not too big provided the local LEO's dont stop you since u would be carrying a grenade launcher. might want to do more reading before buying a gun since you cant dicktate between 40mm and .40S&W

Depends on style of dress, the size of the person carrying. I have a xdm 40 I carry on occassion. Just have to dress to conceal the size of the weapon your carrying.

The 40mm is an NFA item. The 37mm or 26.5mm are legal but if you use the 12 guage adapter you will technically have a short barrel shotgun which is also an NFA item. Also be careful of state specific rules, like in California even though they require flares on a boat most of the larger launchers will be considered illegal. Spikes Tactical has a forum that discusses the larger launchers and has good links to other information. Good luck.

Now I want to get my hands on a 40mm grenade launcher and carry that. Who needs .40SW when you have 40mm?

Im sure I could conceal it with a large coat. Ill carry this one and keep my Glock .40 as a backup.

I concealed a full size .40 caliber...so no it's not to big. 5' 10" 180 lbs muscular athletic. Since I open carry now, it doesn't matter...so I plan on getting that 40mm asap, what do you guys think, thigh holster or shoulder holster?

I'm 5'6", 170 lbs. I carry a Springfield XD-40 service pistol in a crossbreed supertuck with no problems at all. It's definitely not too big.

Heh, glad you are taking the flak with stride. It's not the first time many of us have seen that mistake...but it's always fun to razzle people a little.

Absolutely possible to conceal a 'full size' .40. Just as easy as you can conceal a 1911 or a full size 9mm.

The key is to find a concealment rig that is comfortable for your build. Like many others here, I'm a big guy, 5'9", 275lbs and wear a Crossbreed Supertuck to tote my 4" Springfield XD40. I wear all day, eveywhere without too much problem. Be prepared to spend some extra money on a good gun belt to hold your pants and rig up!

I'm not even sure I want to open this can.... an arrow to the knee? What am I missing Chen?

So...I never wanted to bring the arrow to this forum...but warbirds has no line that is left uncrossed! And since the arrow has landed here...I wanted to use it a few times before it gets shunned into oblivion.

To explain what the line means:

It's from a video game, Skyrim, where a every guard says, "I used to be an adventurer like you, until I took an arrow to the knee". I haven't played the game before..but have seen video of it. It became a huge hit on youtube to post, "i used to x, until i took an arrow to the knee". X being anything from a cute kitten to a 40mm launcher.

Well! That explains it. I've never been a gamer. I would have no clue unless you told me! :to_pick_ones_nose:
Thanks!
