Indiana Renewal Question

Three years ago I applied for a 4 year permit. It was accepted and issued. Today, being 364 days before it expires I went ahead and applied for a Lifetime permit instead of the 4 year.

I assumed since I already have a 4 year permit and since the application asked if it was unexpired that my fingerprints on file would remain usable. However, after filling out the application and submitting payment of $60 online, it informs me to once again use the L-1 option for fingerprinting.

Since I applied for a Lifetime instead of a renewal of the 4 year, has that made void the original prints from 3 years ago?

Too funny, who knows maybe after 3-5 years you might have to resubmit figure prints and pay the fee. It's just a way to pay another tax for every gun owner.

I got my 4 year Indiana permit just over a year ago and wish I had got the lifetime. At the time, I didn't know it was so easy to get a permit and figured if they denied me for some reason I would have saved $30.

Other than being a way to make more money, I suppose that in these times where ID theft is fairly common having you get fingerprinted again ensures them that it is actually you applying and not someone else who's using your name.

I'm just happy we don't live in one of those states that make citizens take a $1000 course to get a permit... wonder if they have to take the course each time they renew lol :butcher:
