Indiana Law regarding LEO demand to see PPP

One issue that I've never had a satisfactory answer to is, when confronted by a LEO in Indiana, when may he demand to see my Pink Slip, when am I required to produce it, and under what conditions is he permitted to confiscate it and/or my sidearm, all absent any credibly claimed PC or RAS?

I'm concerned about OCing and having some skittish Liberal-alike call the cops and then getting the rookie who doesn't know the laws regarding carrying a weapon in public in Indiana. Problem is, I, myself, don't know the law (administrative or otherwise) regarding such demands as those outlined above. Any help would be appreciated, but only posts citing the Indiana Code will be taken seriously.

Thank you.

P.S. PPP = Personal Protection Permit, Indiana's handgun license.

I think you've just answered your question. YOU need to study up on Indiana State Codes concerning PPP and laws concerning weapons and your rights. Are you really willing to take some of these people's posts as written rule? Spend the time sourcing your laws, you'll remember them more if you do the work.

That's the point. I've done the homework and I can't find the law that is authoritative on this issue. That is also the reason I said, "... only posts citing the Indiana Code will be taken seriously." so that I can read the law for myself.

*facepalm* *headdesk* *headfloor*

I've done the research and I can't find any laws, court cases, rules, regs, by-laws, or anything above the level of free advice, and we all know what that's worth, that buttresses the idea that an Indiana LEO has any authority whatsoever to come up to me when I'm in public, whether OC, CC, or even No C, and on a level from less than the Terry standard demand to see my PPP and have legal authority to compel me to produce it or I get a charge of X pressed against me, for some vague, nebulous value of X.

And I have a lawyer. A 15 minute chat with him about this would cost me about $32.

I honestly don't understand what is so difficult about finding, or being told, where definitive legal authority for such demands may be found. Maybe it's an Indiana thing and those documents are stored on a Windows 95 machine running IIS 2.1 under a secretary's desk in some long-forgotten sub basement of the State House.
