Indiana Handgun Permit

Well i found out what is the holdup on my handgun permit. Called the State Police today and they said Austin PD "failed to transmit" my application. Called APD and talked to "the Chief" who claimed to have transmitted it but resent it and said he will call ISP and get it resolved for me...so I should have my permit by next week....sigh...computers...GIGO (Garbage In Garbage Out...)

It's not a permit. It's a license. LTCH= License To Carry a Handgun.

Sorry about the hold up on your license. Mine took just over 40 days when I lived in IN. How long have you been waiting?

Six weeks this Friday...

Mine took almost 90 in IN ...hope you went ahead and got the lifetime

The first time I applied it took about 30 days,but all my renewals took about 2 weeks. I just got my lifetime last week.

Just talked to the State Police...they now have all "pertinent information" Austin PD called them yesterday as promised...should get my license in 3-5 working days because i used L1 and filed electronically....

Good deal. It's nice to see a .gov office working effectively to remedy a mistake.

I am in Indiana and I was surprised to get mine in under a week. I will say that I did most of the process online and was able to get fingerprinted and visit the local police the same day I applied, so it was very quick for me.

Would have been quickfor me if my app had made it to ISP as it should insted of being "lost" in electronic limbo land.....recorded msg at ISP # says 3-5 days if you filed using the L1 computer system.....

It came Saturday and is now residing in my wallet....I am now Legal to carry a handgun for my personal protection (Walther P-22, Taurus Pt-738) Placed 4 shots "downrange: from my buddy Jim's Ruger Vaquero 45 today 2 in ring two, two in ring one..."Don't tread on me"...LOL Not bad considering I had not shot a handgun since the mid 1970s...Shot My Walther p-22 and it created a nice little 4" circle at 20 feet, with most in "ring one" a real "Lady"...the Taurus 380 on the other hand is a "*****" that bit me, skinned the thumb knuckle of my left hand with the slide...and placement due to the kick(recoil) was erratic...gonna use it to "trade up" to something else...Maybe trade it and my NAA 22 Mag for a 22 rifle..Henry 22 lever action or Ruger 10/22...
