indiana expungement

has anyone in Indiana ever had a felony expungement and the got their firearms permit?

I had multiple non violent felonies that where expunged, I applied for my permit to carry & its been about a month. I have been approved locally & now shows online pending ISP approval. It also shows under the little question mark that if anything was found could take additional time. Before I applied I paid & ran my background thru Indiana & shows clean. However I tried to purchase a gun from a license dealer & was denied in the process of appealing but will update if approved or not.

Update: I just received my carry permit yesterday, I filled out in feb 3 & was approved june 13. I gave up on checking everyday & thought I would get a denial letter but I was so excited when I felt a piece of plastic in the envelope. So there is hope. It took 4 months for me with 4 expunged felonies (non violent class D felonies) & 1 misdemeanor.

It wasnt a expungement but I have had trouble in the past with being denied because of a past arrest. It took a few appeals as well as a lot of time to get straightened out but eventually it was straightened out. All I can suggest is being persistent.

Also I have read of others who thought that having an expungement meant they could choose 'No' on the application when asked about the crimes. There were denied because of this.
