Had to make it a little grammatically incorrect for the sake of it fitting in the title, but would I get in trouble with the grip hanging out but the xD hanging the the pants in front of the shirt? To be honest, I'm really starting to rethink the NC CWP right now due to the cost, which isn't horrible but its still $90 for the background check and finger prints then don't mention the class fees which Ive found to be about $60 and I can think of a lot more stuff I can do with $150 at the moment than for a piece of paper from NC telling me I can conceal my gun, which to me should require a permit(Go Arizona), but its a law and I abide by them. But then again, I might just stick with getting an AZ non resident because heresy said that you can take an online cheap class and the background fee is only $60 and my state allows literally all CWP within the contiguous US. Tell me your feelings on it. Also, Yes I am the guy that was asking about the best non resident and then went on about just dealing with my stomach pain and getting an NC one lol.
In NC is it still open carrying when you have it tucked in your pants, but shirt isnt

The exact definition of 'concealed' isn't spelled out in NC law (Link Removed), but having volunteered with a law enforcement agency and interacted with quite a few LEOs I can say that virtually all NC LEOs I know would consider the firearm 'concealed' in the situation you describe. If caught without a Concealed Handgun Permit you may prevail, but you will very likely end up defending your opinion in court.
Yeah, better safe than sorry. I appreciate the input. Also, now that Maine and AZ both are starting to move away from CWP, any news or likely hood for this to happen to NC? Id hate to pay for the class and background check for something that in a few months could be a piece of laminated paper when I could invest it in more boom sticks.

$60 - 75 for a class and 90 for the permit will hardly purchase any handgun that I would ever want.
Constitutional carry in NC? Naw, that's not going to happen.... Far to many liberals from the north have moved into the state.
If the firearm was concealed, then how would the LEO know it was a firearm being carried?

Well, in the scenario described by Zachm the gun is not entirely concealed by the shirt. Also I have certainly seen people with a 'concealed' gun that was clearly printing and obviously there, even though covered. And if you ever have to use the weapon in self defense, which is after all the reason you're carrying it, the question of whether you have a CHP will certainly arise. You may argue that if the officer could see the person was carrying a gun because he could see part of the gun, as in the scenario first described, then it wasn't actually concealed, which seems a reasonable statement. What I'm saying is that this argument may or may not succeed in court, but its not going to stop the officer from arresting you and you having to argue about it in court.

I completely understand the issue of permit price, I got an Arizona non-resident permit a couple years before I got my NC permit. It was cheaper, and I could use my NC Hunter Safety training class to meet the training requirements. At that time the training had to include a life-fire component so you couldn't use just an online course. Virginia accepts online training classes with no life-fire requirement for their non-resident permit, I saw a class online for $35. But VA permit costs $100, Arizona is cheaper.
For me, I finally got an actual NC permit because its valid in SC, Georgia , and Florida, so when I drive to see the mother-in-law I can carry with it, the Arizona permit doesn't cover those states.
Oh no, no, no, no. Unless there was some crazy sell for a Glock, Springfield, Ruger, or certain other brands, for that, I don't mess with pistols under $350. Still though, it could purchase a mosin, maybe a 22lr from Mossberg or some other company. I own now only a Saiga 12 gauge and just bought myself a Springfield XD mod 2, but I still need to get a rifle and I am thinking Remington 700. Yeah, that's true. One could hope we eventually could have constitutional carry, but somehow for every gun a person carries concealed in NC a hipster might be able to find a chart showing that in turn kills a butterfly in South America. Those guns are just nothing but bad luck, especially the hidden ones. Which is another reason I want to carry concealed. I have a four and a half year old nephew that's over a lot and he LOVES guns, but to him none exist in my house at this moment, out of sight, out of mind, and if I carry open the jig is up.
And that's all honestly where its at with me, sort of price. I mean, cons would be, I'm right on the NC/SC borderline and you cant even open carry in SC so Id have to avoid that place anyways, plus I couldn't use it to do private party and quicker transaction(from what I was told Id still need gun permits with an AZ permit to purchase in NC), but pros are its almost half the cost and has a quicker turn around time and my state of NC seems to be a little bit of the whore(My mistake if I cant use that word for a metaphor on this site, I am new) when it comes to concealed carry permits and they accept virtually everyone(I think Vermont isn't accepted, but I don't think they have one?)

Dictionary.Com definitions of concealed isn't the operative part of the law in North Carolina. However, there's a lot of case law going back to the 1800's on this. Concealed means entirely hidden, not just that "if any part of the gun is concealed it's concealed." The classic case is Williamson which lots of recent decisions reference back to.
Be careful, concealled doesn't just mean on your person. If you throw it under the driver's seat in your car, etc... it's concealed.
Note that hopefully "tucked in you pants" means using a proper holster for such, lest you become one of the countless dumbasses who shoots his 'nads off.

The truth is, it is all going to boil down to the perception of the cop that was dispatched to the MWAG call from some liberal panty wetter. Some might say, he's good, he is open carrying his gun, perfectly legal, while another cop may well charge you with concealed carry without a carry permit.
I would guess that a Sneaky Pete holster worn on the outside would be considered concealed. How about a flap holster that is gun shaped but covers the gun? If the gun is printing is that concealed? I would think a LEO would have a hard time making the case that the gun was concealed if he could detect it.

I suspect that most people on this forum know what a sneaky pete is for, and there may even be a few misguided people that have one, however for the majority of the panty wetting liberals out there, I suspect they would be clueless as to what it is, thus it is concealed.
