WTF??
2 Federal Law Enforcement Officers opened fire on 'each other' in Downtown Long Beach, California. 2 killed and one more wounded!
I thought that every Law Enforcement Officer had to pass a Psyche Exam before they could even carry a badge and a gun?
Apparently these 'psyche exams' are not as effective as people claim.

Very sad story, but the psych exam is irrelevant. Along with the complicated process of applying, there is an interview with a psychologist. However, these like 99% of other psychological exams cannot predict psychopathology. They can only attempt to asses whether the person is in good mental health at the time of hiring.

Its like testing your child for schizophrenia when they are 12 and the doctor says they do not have it. Well, the problem is schizophrenia usually comes out in the early 20s. My point: Cops are humans, humans change. I think officers need to have mental health exams more frequently and there needs to be more resources available to officers who are getting too stressed out by their work.

Blaming the psych exam (interview) and saying it is not good enough and that's what caused this is a big mistake.

I would have expected it to happen at the BATFE. It's already happened, or almost so, with them on one or more occasions. They're the absolute bottom of the barrel in Federal law enforcement, with recurrent corruption and discrimination scandals, "Fast & Furious" being only the latest.

That's a policy *I* could get behind. If powers of government flow from the people, and the people can't legally carry in a federal building, then logicly, neither can government agents.
